8 New BL Series from Domundi Set for Release in 2025!

Domundi has recently revealed their 2025 lineup, and I am absolutely thrilled! They are truly elevating their offerings this year with an exciting blend of stories and genres. I appreciate that they are bold and exploring new territory. Now, let’s take a look at what they have planned!

#1. ZOMVIVOR

I really can’t recall when the first teaser for this series was shared with us, but I do know that it’s time for its release. Based on the official teaser that was recently unveiled, the cast seems to consist of popular figures in the industry, particularly well-known for their roles in BL dramas. It’s unclear if the storyline will still have any BL aspects, but the horror and thriller themes look quite promising, making this series intriguing to watch regardless. I just hope that the overall execution surpasses expectations when the show premieres in the fourth quarter of the year. Zomvivor tells the tale of a group of students trying to survive amid a mysterious virus that is spreading through the city and transforming people into zombies. Seeking safety in their school, they must protect themselves from the escalating dangers outside. However, with threats drawing closer, their only chance is to escape—before it’s too late.

#2. LOVE UPON A TIME

Ultimately, we've officially received the pilot for Love Upon A Time, and I have quite a bit to express regarding it. Having observed both pilot trailers for this series, which differ based on one of the central characters, I have to say that the two official pilots convey distinct vibes and impressions. When the first official pilot featuring Net and James as the lead couple was released some time ago, it centered around a mystery and the characters' maturity. However, the new iteration takes a different approach. While there remains an element of mystery concerning the plot, the official pilot shifts its focus primarily onto JJ's character, which adds an exciting layer to the entire show. I haven’t seen him in any notable series before, so it will be interesting to see how well he performs in the lead role. To be honest, there were moments where some of the monologues felt a bit cringeworthy, but I found JJ’s character more relatable during scenes where he interacted with his co-stars. I can't yet assess the chemistry between Net and JJ, although I do find their dynamic in the official pilot somewhat appealing. I truly hope that everything unfolds smoothly once it premieres soon. Love Upon A Time tells the story of Nakhun (JJ), a doubtful student who is unexpectedly transported 400 years into the past. Mistaken for a missing person named Klao (JJ), he adopts that identity to uncover the truth and figure out how to return home. However, Klao's friend, Phop (Net), begins to grow suspicious, sensing that the stranger before him is not who he claims to be.

#3. YOUR THIRD

MaxNat is definitely making a comeback in a new BL series set to premiere soon, although it might take a while since it’s with Domundi. Still, Your Third could be the first lighthearted BL series featuring MaxNat, as they typically portray characters with extensive backstories. This feels like a refreshing change for them, and I was surprised to see Max portraying two characters simultaneously in this show. The official pilot provided everything I needed to spark my interest, so it now hinges on the execution to determine if it will be good. Your Third centers around a dedicated employee who must locate his boss's younger brother. With the incentive of being named "employee of the year," Jam (Nat) is determined to complete his task.

#4. MR. FANBOY

It seems that the main couple in this series has gained quite a bit of popularity, particularly among those who have watched "Your Sky," and fans are eagerly anticipating this new show featuring them. I've always enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers trope in BL series, so I'm curious to see how these two new actors will perform now that they are in lead roles instead of supporting ones. I appreciate the chemistry between Wan and Third in the official pilot, but I'm hoping the series will give a thorough introduction to their characters. I'm also intrigued to see James in this show, even though he has made it clear that he'll be taking on supporting roles to focus more on his artistic pursuits. Regardless, this series has already become the most viewed Official Pilot, which shows just how excited fans are about it. Mr. Fanboy centers around Wan (Save), a university student who scores a role in his idol Nine's (James) Y series, only to find himself in conflict with the sharp-tongued co-star Third (Auau). As their animosity evolves, Wan discovers the darker aspects of the industry and the secrets surrounding his idol.

#5. YOU(R)TUBER

This forthcoming BL series might not feature the most intricate plot based on its official pilot, yet it has certainly piqued my interest significantly. The cast's visuals are exceptional, but I’m particularly eager to see Earth take on a role where he steals someone else's boyfriend. It took me by surprise, but it’s refreshing to see him in a character that's different from what he's done before. Regarding the main couple, I have to say their on-screen chemistry appears strong, but as I always mention, this chemistry needs to manifest in the actual series itself. You(r)Tuber centers around Khun (FirstOne), who is recognized for his presence as a YouTuber. After discovering his best friend cheating on his boyfriend, Khun vowed to create a new account that would eclipse that of his ex-boyfriend. In need of a fresh team, he encounters Intouch (Tle), a skilled videographer integral to filming his content. Could this mark the beginning of something new?

#6. DUANG WITH YOU

I won't lie, from start to finish of the official pilot, I couldn't stop smiling at the scenes featuring the main couple. I believe that Domundi has created another fantastic pairing in terms of their dynamics and chemistry; they really nailed it this time. Additionally, the visuals not only highlight the main characters but also the supporting ones, which is just perfect. The characters are adorable while presenting a charming and light storyline, so I think many people will enjoy it once it’s released. Duang With You tells the story of Duang (TeeTee), an appealing interior design student who has a crush on Qin (Por), a distant yet popular music student. After a failed confession, Duang courageously commits to pursuing him. However, when they are paired for a stage performance, Qin begins to view him in a new way.

#7. RESTART

After watching the official pilot, I’m already eager to see the whole series due to its captivating plot. It features an impressive all-star cast, and their performances in the scenes presented were exceptional. While it may be somewhat bewildering, I’m looking for answers to my questions after viewing the official pilot trailer. Some actors are playing roles that diverge from their typical characters, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. There isn’t an official synopsis for this series yet, so let’s hope we don’t have to wait another three years for it to premiere.

#8. MAGIC LOVER

If I could rate the level of cuteness this series radiates, I would give it an endless score. There are three couples, each of whom is incredibly charming and fun to watch. It’s a bit unexpected to see Jimmy paired with someone new, but I must say that JimmyOhm is doing a fantastic job of showcasing their chemistry. I just hope the wait isn’t too long, as I’m really enjoying this official pilot so far. Magic Lover tells the tale of three wizards—Vivian (Namping), Deris (Ohm), and Aphere (Kong)—who are sent on a mission to the ordinary world to discover their true loves. With just 30 days to accomplish their goal or risk being permanently transformed into animals, they must navigate love and destiny with the aid of their assistants.

In addition to these titles, Domundi has also unveiled a new musical BL series, HugELhee the Musical featuring Zee and NuNew, along with their other series, The Next Prince, which is set to be officially released around April this year. Domundi is certainly raising the bar in BL show production. However, I really hope they start releasing some of their previously announced series, as it has been years since they were first revealed. Which of these upcoming BL series are you most excited about? Thanks for reading! That’s all for now—see you next time!
