Top 10 Best-Selling BL Series in 2021

 Top 10 Best-Selling BL Series in 2021

The year 2021 has offered us a plethora of BL Series to watch, including Thai BL, Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, and others, all of which have given us the opportunity to choose which of these should be on our top watch list. In this article, we'll look at the top ten BL Series to watch in 2021, whether they've already aired or are still showing. Keep in mind that these BLs are expected to be released in 2021. If you have any suggestions, please share them with us in the comments area. Prior to then, owing to geo-locked restrictions, some of these shows may not be available in your country. If that's the case, you'll need to utilize a VPN to access these geo-restricted BL Dramas. Let's get straight into the blog without further ado.

#1. Papa & Daddy

Let's start with a play that depicts a contemporary real-life scenario of LGBT couples. Although BL operas are known for their charming tales and attractive characters, they are gradually developing into far more serious themes. Papa and Daddy will follow the tale of Damian, a restaurant owner in Taipei who has long desired to start his own family. He and his partner chose to go on a surrogacy adventure together, which resulted in the birth of their kid, despite the fact that they already had a secure relationship. When their son expresses interest in the differences between his parents and his peers, Damian and his partner must consider how they would explain things to their child. GagaOOLaLa allows you to see Papa and Daddy.

#2. Peach of Time

This Korean BL may still be airing, but it has already piqued my interest with its narrative. If you like He's Coming To Me for its plot, you'll enjoy Peach of Time as well. Because it's the first time for a BL, it's also a lot more intriguing to watch because it stars both Thai and Korean actors. Peach of Time tells the tale of Peach, a Thai guy who traveled to Korea to meet Yoon Oh, an internet acquaintance. Everything appears to be good until Peach discovers that Yoon Oh's mother is harsh with his kid. Even though I know Peach of Time will have a tragic finish, I still hope the narrative will have a good ending.

#3. Fish Upon the Sky

The first two BLs on our list may be a touch too serious in terms of narrative, however Fish Upon the Sky helps to balance things up. Fish Upon the Sky is worth considering if you just want a nice chuckle and don't want to think too much about the narrative. The narrative of Pi, who has a hidden crush on one of the sexiest students in the Allied Health Sciences Department, is told in Fish Upon the Sky. His crush is a Fish in the Sky for him. Then he met Mork, his arch-rival. Pi believed that outperforming Mork would get him closer to his sweetheart, but he had no idea that this is all part of Mork's plan.

#4. Be Loved in House: I Do

In 2021, this Taiwanese BL is also one of the most funny BLs I've ever seen. This BL series about enemies-to-lovers isn't groundbreaking in terms of narrative, but it's nonetheless entertaining. My main criticism of this BL was the slow-moving drama, but luckily the plot was wrapped up in the last episode. Be Loved in House: I Do tells the story of a studio owner who salvaged it from bankruptcy. On his first day, he enforces the single rule that bans workers from having romantic connections with one another. Until he discovers a secret from his employer, one employee will strive to eliminate the aforementioned regulation.

#5. To My Star

Another Korean BL has made it onto our list, owing to its plot and major characters. Although To My Star is a brief series, it manages to tell the entire tale. To My Star tells the story of Kang Seo Joon, an actor who used to be one of the industry's top stars, and Han Ji Woo, a young dashing chef. When he was embroiled in a scandal, he went underground to avoid the press and lived with Han Ji Woo. Despite their opposing characteristics, the two chose to start a relationship.

#6. Lovely Writer

Lovely Writer, one of the greatest Thai BLs of 2021, deserves to be promoted to everyone. Lovely Writer has provided us a new viewpoint on the BL Series with its distinctive narrative. Gene, a professional writer whose publisher advises him to attempt writing a different genre called Boys' Love, and Nubsib, an aspiring actor who has a crush on Gene, star in Lovely Writer. When it comes to consent and how to be a responsible supporter, Lovely Writer has taught us a lot.

#7. I Promised You the Moon

Following the international success of I Told Sunset About You in 2020, I Promised You the Moon continues the narrative of our main protagonists, now in their university years. The narrative of Teh and Oh at their separate colleges is told in I Promised You the Moon. The first year as a couple was idyllic, then Teh's attachment to his university pals changed everything. Not only that, but Teh developed affections for his senior, which Oh's boyfriend picked up on.

#8. We Best Love

Enemies to lovers is still one of the greatest BLs in the business, and it's unlikely that it'll be surpassed for a long time. In the first quarter of 2021, We Best Love Seasons 1 and 2 provided us with a wonderful tale and plot. We Best Love tells the narrative of Shu Yi and Shi De, who have been competitors since they first met. Shu Yi has always been in second place, whereas Shi De has always come out on top, whether academically or otherwise. Shu Yi predicted that now that Shi De was gone, he would be the number one, but when he saw him at the swimming competition, he was taken aback.

#9. A Tale of Thousand Stars

This may be the most unusual storyline on our list, but it's also one of the best-executed in the history of BL. A Tale of Thousand Stars has raised the bar so high for Thai BLs that it will be a long time before we see another of this caliber. The narrative of Tian, a volunteer teacher, and Phupha, a top forest officer, is told in A Tale of Thousand Stars. When a former volunteer teacher is killed in a car accident, her heart is transplanted to Tian, who has a heart condition. Tian chooses to follow in her footsteps and fulfill her pledge of counting a thousand stars as a result of her diary. Threats from their environment will begin to arise as the two get closer to one another.

#10. Light on Me

This Korean BL is now widely regarded as one of the greatest in the world. Tae Kyung, an 18-year-old high school student who has been a lifetime loner, is the protagonist of Light On Me. When he decides to make friends, he consults his teacher for advice. His teacher suggests that he join the student council as a first step, but he will face challenges. Light On Me is not only an enemies to lovers narrative, but it also has a love triangle, which is uncommon in BLs.

There are many additional titles that might be included on our list, but these BLs are among the most interesting to watch in 2021. If you have any recommendations, please leave them in the comments section below. Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now, and I'll see you on the next one.
