I'm now watching eight BL series (March 2022)

Some of the existing BLs have reached the end of their run and will be replaced by new shows this week. Although there will be more BLs airing next month, I found it impossible to watch them all at once, so I attempted to catch up on some of them on a regular basis. In this blog, I'll tell you about my current watch list of BLs that I'm enjoying, as well as my thoughts on them. You can also use the comment area to post your own watch list and engage in a conversation with everyone. Let's get straight into the blog without further ado.

#1. Enchanté

Enchanté is the only BL series from GMMTV that I'm presently watching, despite the fact that Cupid's Last Wish will shortly replace Not Me on international media. Enchanté, without a doubt, has a simplistic narrative, but I'm really enjoying what's going on with the series right now. Its premise isn't innovative, but it's simpler to follow because to its light plot. If you're presently watching this series, you'll notice that I've hinted to Enchanté's true identity twice in prior articles, but it was merely a suggestion. Enchanté should now have a lot of moments with the main pair being nice with one another with just one episode left, given the character of Enchanté has already been revealed.

#2. Cutie Pie

With its sweet and light narrative, this Thai BL truly completes my Sunday night. When I watch this series, the chemistry between Lian and Kuea is one of my favorites. Although I enjoy the show's side pairings, I am always drawn to Lian and Kuea's relationship. Arranged marriage has been utilized in a number of dramas in the past, but seeing it in a BL feels like a totally new concept to me that I've never seen before. My only gripe with this series is the length of some of the scenes, which I don't mind because it doesn't bother me too much. Cutie Pie serves its role as a series for me in general.

#3. Cherry Blossoms After Winter

I'm actually searching for a very amazing Korean BL after seeing Semantic Error two weeks ago, and happily, Cherry Blossoms After Winter is still showing till mid-April. Both Korean BLs are distinct in their own right, and both lead couples have a strong connection. If there's one thing I've noticed about this series, it's the plot. I had the impression that several scenes were jumping from one to the next, which caused me to lose track of the story's timeline. That might be a problem with the editing, or I'm just incredibly sluggish at picking things up. Anyway, I'm still enjoying this Korean BL, and I'm hoping that things will improve in the next three episodes.

#4. First Love Again

This Korean BL has concluded, however I have yet to view the final episode. It's not that it wasn't excellent enough; I just lost track of the story's pacing and went a month without seeing the last three episodes. Anyway, First Love Again had a strong narrative, albeit it wasn't fully exploited due to the limited amount of episodes. The performers' acting performances were adequate for me, and their sequences were credible, at least to me. The reincarnation concept was really intriguing, and the main couple's predicament was a nice one for the narrative. I'm not sure about the conclusion because I haven't watched it yet, but I'm hoping it wasn't hurried like other previous Korean BLs.

#5. You're My Sky

It's a pity that I only started watching this series yesterday, but I was immediately engrossed in the tale and cinematography. I'm not usually a fan of sports romance shows, but there's something about this one that makes me want to watch every episode. I can't really critique everything because I've only seen the first episode of You're My Sky, but I have a feeling this series will be worth my time. Anyway, my main gripe with this show is the large number of people I'll have to learn along the road, but I'm hoping that each pair will have their own scene and screen time.

#6. Something In My Room

This Thai BL concluded a few days ago, but I'm still watching the second episode after watching the first for nearly a month. It's not a horrible series; in fact, I'm loving it. It's just that the show has frightening ghost characters. That's the only thing keeping me from binge-watching this series, but I'm still trying to finish the last eight episodes by the end of the month. Something In My Room is a breath of fresh air in the BL world, as there are only a few BL series that feature ghost characters. I'm expecting that the future episodes will be more focused on Phob's journey rather than the creepiness of some of the creatures.

#7. Oh! Boarding House

Although I only started watching this Korean BL this week, it had already concluded on March 16th. I had previously read several reviews of this BL, some of which were negative, but I chose to watch it anyhow to see for myself. The concept was established in the first episode, but the execution was weak, and I didn't find it very motivating. The first episode has few sequences, which might be owing to its short run length of only 15 minutes. I simply hope that future episodes are more well-executed.

#8. Dear Doctor, I'm Coming For Soul

This series has only been on the air for a few days, but I'm already hooked on the premise. A love tale between a doctor and a soul reaper has never been seen in a BL before, and I'm looking forward to learning more about this series in the coming weeks. Everything went smoothly in the first episode, and the characters were introduced to the viewers in a fair manner. Their acting was adequate in my perspective, but I am hopeful that it will improve in the next episodes.

There are many presently showing BLs, but it's also OK to re-watch some of our favorite series from time to time to keep ourselves company. These BLs are of varying quality, and it is entirely up to us if we choose to watch them or not. What BL show are you presently binge-watching? Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now, and I'll see you on the next one.
