 Upcoming 2022 Thai BL Series (July-December)

    We have liked quite a few BL series since the first half of 2022 is nearly done. However, 2022 is still ongoing, and later this year, we may anticipate the release of additional high-quality BL series. Like you, I'm looking forward to several of these titles since they include original plots or feature new couples with whom we'll be sharing fresh love stories. From July till December 2022, what BL series are you looking forward to watching? In the comments box below, please share your list. Let's go straight into the blog without further ado.

#1. BIG DRAGON

    I've been eager to see what this series' narrative may give us since the official plot trailer was released more than four months ago. Since several of the issues in the trailer require serious discussion, the plot is really trickier than I initially imagined. But it's difficult to judge the story's entire narrative since we haven't seen the complete picture of how it will tackle these subjects. I've already seen the trailer a number of times, and each time I do, I'm blown away by how well-done the cinematography is. Most Thai BLs have been working to improve since I Told Sunset About You was released over two years ago, not just in terms of narrative but also in terms of production quality. Based on the trailer, I can say that Big Dragon appears to be high quality, and I hope that this impression is shared throughout the entire series. Even if the actors have perfect chemistry, the series' overall result will still be determined once it has aired. Big Dragon hasn't received a firm release date as of yet, but it's reasonable to assume that it will happen before the year is over.

#2. NEVER LET ME GO

    It's time for GMMTV to produce its own BL with a Mafia-centric storyline. The popularity of KinnPorsche The Series has exploded, and I am aware that many people adore it. However, GMMTV's Never Let Me Go will follow a similar path, making KinnPorsche not the only Thai BL series to do so. The two series are actually very distinct, despite the fact that they are frequently compared. Never Let Me Go focuses more on the romance whereas KinnPorsche is more concerned with the action sequences and gloomy storyline. We may anticipate that Never Let Me Go will have a gentler overall narrative as some of the cast are younger than they were in KinnPorsche. For the story to be even more interesting to watch, I hope this series will give excellent level actor performances.

#3. BETWEEN US

    Although Until We Meet Again has been out for over three years, Between Us has not yet been seen on air. Since they weren't the main protagonists of the show, the story of WinTeam wasn't completely explored in Until We Meet Again. Fortunately, the background of their relationship and its beginning will ultimately be revealed, and I couldn't be more thrilled about it. In order to give fans a preview of the new series, Studio Wabi Sabi officially released the pilot episode of Between Us back in February. Another hard story is Between Us, thus it has to be handled with careful storytelling. As of right now, Between Us The Series is scheduled to premiere on iQiYi on November 18.

#4. BE MY FAVORITE

    As you are all aware, fantasy is one of my favorite BL genres, thus if Be My Favorite is done well, it will be a runaway success for me. Turning back time to undo things we've done in our lives is the most complex storyline there is. Be My Favorite is one of the series I'm most looking forward to in 2022 just based on the concept, and I hope it's not only a love tale. There is a lot more opportunity for other genres, like enhancing its drama scenes, rather than concentrating more on the romantic aspect. Aside from the premise, it surprises me to see Krist and Mike in a BL together, but I believe they can succeed because they are both excellent performers. I hope that this series won't turn out to be a letdown after watching the teaser. It has a lot of potential to be among the finest series of 2022. There isn't an official release date for this series as of yet, but it's more likely that we'll be able to see it by the fourth quarter of this year.

#5. COFFEE MELODY

    The word "cute" would probably be the best way for me to describe my feelings after watching the official pilot trailer. A straightforward and endearing BL is also a nice addition to the lineup of BL series that will run in the second half of the year and feature serious themes and fantastical tales. It's encouraging to have a fresh combination in a BL, and I adore these two main performers from their prior roles. In order to match the drama's premise, Coffee Melody presents a charming story with a few slightly complex characters.Another couple may appear in this series, but I'm more curious about the history of the main characters. I only want the actors in Coffee Melody would perform well so that everything would come together just like a delicious cup of coffee. On July 18, Coffee Melody will be aired on the Viki platform.

#6. MOONLIGHT CHICKEN

    Although I have always admired EarthMix as an on-screen couple in Thai BL series, Moonlight Chicken may be the first drama in which, based on their characteristics, I don't want them to be a relationship. The trailer, which was first revealed to us a few months ago, gives us a preview of the plot and the characters. Wen was already dating someone when he spent the night with Jim, as is evident, therefore I'm torn between wanting to ship them in this series or not. However, we should view that clip with caution because a trailer just provides a single snapshot of the overall story. This series has a unique scenario and atmosphere that we won't find in any other BLs on this list, which is what I appreciate about it. Under the meanwhile, Moonlight Chicken is still in production, so we may perhaps see this series in the final months of the year.

#7. CHAINS OF HEART

    I've never been a fan of crime and action shows, but recently, BLs have started to embrace that genre, and I thought it was rather nice. Even just the official Chains of Heart narrative, which was unveiled back in April, is distinctive. I've seen a lot of teasers, but Chains of Heart is one of the best—even without any dialogue. Just a few random sequences, yet the feelings were genuine. The mystery surrounding some of the people in this BL is another aspect of it that I adore, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it. The chemistry is undeniably perfect, and I hope that it will carry over into the series as a whole. On December 19, Chains Of Heart is scheduled to air.

#8. VICE VERSA

    If you've read any of my past posts, you'll know that Vice Versa is my most anticipated BL of 2022, but every so often, I watch the trailer again and I learn something new. Although we should still wait for the actual series, Vice Versa is unquestionably one of the most original BL plots I have seen. However, as of late, I'm worried that confusing the characters from the two disparate universes would affect the storyline. Being easily confused by too many names that might cause me to misinterpret the notion is just my own personal issue. Apart from that, everything in this BL appears to be wonderful, especially the chemistry between the main characters. It's too early to judge those aspects of this series, but you can count on a fantastic performance from this one. Vice Versa doesn't yet have a firm release date.

#9. THE ECLIPSE

    When I originally watched the The Eclipse trailer, I thought it had a strange vibe to it and was unable to understand what the series was attempting to convey. However, according on the author's writings, The Eclipse is a representation on how outdated conventional beliefs and values might throw a shadow for many future generations, making it difficult for the young people to discover who they are. Knowing its meaning makes the series' narrative feel more potent than before, and I hope that it will also be evident in its visuals. Although I don't particularly enjoy this kind of show, it does have something to offer beyond just being a romance. The Eclipse may be released sometime in September 2022, according to certain speculations.

#10. LOVE IN THE AIR

    You might want to check out this new forthcoming series by Mame, the same author who created the BL books, if you liked watching TharnType The Series, TharnType Season 2, and Love By Chance. Although the idea of the series is intriguing, I think I need to see more of it before giving it my heart and soul. I'm hoping that because there are two main couples, they will each get the same amount of screen time to develop their own plots. Although the release date has not yet been officially announced, I hope it happens sooner than anticipated.

#11. MY SCHOOL PRESIDENT

    Because they are so similar to previous BL series from the past, high school-themed BL series today are sometimes thought to be uninteresting. But occasionally, I find that these BLs are my go-to series since they are just pure romance and drama with intricate stories. Miscommunication or misunderstanding is the main source of conflict in this theme most of the time, and I don't see anything wrong with it as it occurs in real life anyhow. When My School President premieres, I'm genuinely looking forward to it since it will remind me of the first time I watched the classic BLs. Based on the series' trailer, I have no complaints, and I'm hoping that this BL will be a genuine success. The anticipated release date is currently November 2022.

    The BLs that will be released later this year have various genres, but their narratives also contain unique surprises. I wish I could see them all, but it's difficult to say which of these BLs will be my favourite at the end of the year. In the second half of 2022, which BL series are you most looking forward to?
