13 Most Anticipated BL Series in June 2023

    May delivered a slew of new BL shows for us to enjoy, but Pride Month is also something to look forward to. Whether it's a Thai or Korean BL, fantasy, or pure romance, Pride Month has a lot to offer us in terms of both future and continuing BL Series. This blog will provide a list of ongoing and future BL Series for June, as well as what to expect from these dramas. Let us begin without further ado. 

#1. STARSTRUCK

    Let's start with a presently airing Korean BL, and because we haven't discussed it in our prior blogs, I think now is the greatest moment to add it. I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard varied feelings about it. Some say Starstruck is merely an okayish Korean BL, but others say it's an excellent series to watch. Starstruck is a story of Han Joon, who secretly falls in love with his childhood buddy. He didn't bother confessing his affections for Yoo Jae since he knew they wouldn't be returned. But this time, Han Joon wants to express his feelings for the first time. Friends to lovers is one of the most engaging stories in the BL Series, but enemies to loves is equally popular. Starstruck is now available on iQiYi and GaGaOOLala for streaming and airs every Thursday. 

#2. BE MY FAVORITE

    This Thai BL was meant to air last year, but it was pushed back indefinitely owing to the recasting of one of the male leads for an unknown cause. Fortunately, we now have an official release date, which is today. I wasn't initially invested in the pairing, and I think I need to see the actual episodes to decide whether I enjoy the narrative or not. Be My Favorite tells the narrative of Kawi, a young man who has always had feelings for Mai. His life is irrevocably altered when a crystal ball he purchased as a present sends him back in time. Instead of giving Mai another shot, Kawi finds comfort in the hands of Pisaeng. Will all of them have a happy ending? The plot excites me because of the time travel, and I hope the execution is perfect. On May 26, Be My Favorite will be available for watching on YouTube and Viu. 

#3. THE LUMINOUS SOLUTION

    If Be My Favorite is a time-traveling BL, The Luminous Solution is a fantasy-based BL drama to look out for in the days to come. The Luminous Solutions tells the tale of two couples who are going through a rough patch in their relationship. One has an issue with his lover and has also been dismissed from his work, whilst the other pair has experienced their fair share of heartbreak during their relationship. However, a magical coffee shop appears to be the solution to their worries because a single wish would transform their lives forever. They had no idea that every dream had a cost. It only has six episodes, so I might put it on my watchlist because the plot is intriguing. I only hope the tale doesn't become too complicated and jumbled in the future. The Luminous Solution will premiere on GaGaOOLala on May 27. 

#4. LOVE TRACTOR

    The month of May provided us two Korean BLs, and the month of pride is also bringing us a new BL from the same country. Since the start of 2023, Korean BLs have raised their game and have always been the talk of the town whether there is a new one. If past Korean BLs were more focused on workplace romance, Love Tractor will transport us outside with its fresh air and beautiful sunny days. Sun Yool, a law student who is compelled to live in the countryside, is the protagonist of Love Tractor. He meets his new neighbor there, and the two are drawn to one other. Although it is a pure romance story, the environment is unique, which is a wonderful approach for this type of plot. I'm hoping that everything goes well in this series. Love Tractor will premiere on iQiYi on June 7. 

#5. TOKYO IN APRIL IS...

    Korean BLs are not the only dramas that have gained popularity in the recent few months; Japanese BLs are also releasing some outstanding BL dramas on occasion. Tokyo In April Is is a Japanese BL based on the same-named blockbuster manga. Tokyo in April Is tells the story of two lovers who were forced apart by what occurred 10 years ago, and how they ultimately reunited and rekindled their love. I enjoy this type of story since it has tremendous depth in its characters and story. Tokyo In April Is The Series will premiere on June 15th. 

#6. DINOSAUR LOVE

    The romantic-comedy BL Series has always been my cup of tea, and I believe Dinosaur Love has piqued my interest with its trailer. Because it only has 5 episodes, the richness of its plot and characters may suffer, but it all comes down to execution. Rak, a university student, has a lover but cheats on him with Rak's own closest buddy in Dinosaur Love. Because of their breakup, a bad boy hazer has an open invitation to hit on Rak. Dino doesn't hesitate to express his thoughts to Rak at their first meeting. Based on the clip, the main couple's connection is evident, and their on-screen presence is a treat to witness. Dinosaur Love will premiere on June 25. 

    Aside from these BL Series, there are two BL Movies that you may be interested in, albeit their worldwide availability is currently uncertain. 

#7. TIE THE NOT

    It's a forthcoming BL Movie from the same production company as My Story, an ongoing BL Series. Tie The Not will be released in cinemas on June 24. 

#8. WHY YOU

    It's a horror-romance Khmer BL film that debuted on May 25. I simply hope that in the future, we'll have BL Movies of higher quality than the BL Series, as well as worldwide releases.

    A fantasy-based Thai BL drama that airs on iQiYi every Saturday.

    Every Wednesday and Thursday, a series of special episodes from various GMMTV BL Series is presently showing on YouTube. 

#13. STEP BY STEP

    Every Tuesday, an office-romance Thai BL may be watched on YouTube, WeTv, and GaGaOOLala.
