In July 2023, there will be nine new BL series.
I hardly have time for some existing BL Series in June, and now we have these new BL shows premiering next month that will undoubtedly disrupt our calendar. This blog will discuss the newest forthcoming BL Series that will premiere in July and what we can expect from these series. Let's go straight into the blog, shall we?
#1. BE MINE SUPERSTAR
With their latest BL Series, "Be Mine Superstar," Ja and First are returning to the small screen. Following Ja's resignation from Triple Eight Entertainment, which produced the series, it is possible that this will be Ja and First's final BL show together, however anything is possible in the future. Be Mine Superstar follows the story of Punn, a third-year film student who lands an internship on the set of the person he most adores. Punn discovers the true characteristics of the nation's revered leader, Achi, as they become closer. I'm looking forward to seeing them together, and I'm hoping that this series will help them realize their full potential. Be Mine Superstar will premiere on Viki on July 3rd, with a total of ten episodes.
#2. MINATO'S LAUNDROMAT 2
The first season of Minato's Laundromat was released to the public a year ago, and it received mixed reviews. Some people were bothered by the age difference between the two protagonists, while others thought the plot was well-executed. Because there is no official summary for the second season, there have been suggestions that it would focus on the two main protagonists 10 years after the events of season 1. However, based on the teaser, it appears that there will be no time leap in the series and that the story will continue after the first season's end. Season 2 of Minato's Laundromat will premiere on July 5.
#3. STAY BY MY SIDE
Finally, another Taiwanese BL series is set to premiere next month, and I can't wait to see it. Stay By My Side is Vidol's first BL show for this year, and there are three additional Taiwanese BL shows that will undoubtedly shake our worlds later this year. Stay By My Side tells the story of a young man who begins hearing voices murmur in his ears after his grandfather dies. He is astounded to realize that the voices he hears are those of ghosts. But those sounds start to fade as he gets closer to his roommate. Taiwanese BL series fascinate me the most because of the main characters' overflowing chemistry as well as their distinctive and daring stories. Stay By My Side will premiere on GaGaOOLala on July 7.
#4. STAY WITH ME
If you enjoyed Addicted Heroin in 2016, a Chinese BL remake is on the way to give you an even more detailed plot. Because Addicted Heroin was previously prohibited by the Chinese government owing to its homosexuality and graphic material, it's extremely shocking to see another Chinese BL undertake another adaption. Stay With Me is most likely a toned-down version of the aforementioned series, or it may be an entirely other bromance series. Stay With Me tells the story of two stepbrothers who had distinct personalities at initially but form great bonds after an accident. Stay With Me is reported to feature 24 episodes, but the original only had 15. Stay With Me will premiere on GaGaOOLala on July 7.
#5. LOW FREQUENCY
If Stay By My Side includes ghostly whispers, Low Frequency will have its own spooky genre, but this time, one of the main protagonists is a spirit. This series announced a few months ago, but it never left my mind due of the wonderful chemistry that the main characters had in the trailer. Low Frequency tells the story of Mon, an interior decorator who has the ability to see ghosts. He becomes acquainted with the soul of Thames, a young actor who is in a coma, one day. This Thai BL reminds me of He's Coming To Me, but it has a better chance of ending happily because both characters are still alive. Low Frequency will premiere on July 8th.
#6. HIDDEN AGENDA
After more than a year after their first work together, JoongDunk is back in another Thai BL Series. GMMTV did not fail to pair these two because of their remarkable connection, and this on-screen pair now has a big global following. The drama Hidden Agenda follows Zo, a university student who develops a crush on one of the most popular females, Nita. To get closer to Nita, Zo enlists the assistance of Joke, Nita's ex. He had no idea that the man he asked for aid from had his own ulterior motive. In terms of story, there may be some similarities with Be My Favorite, but I'm still waiting for this series because every execution is dependent on its plot. Hidden Agenda will premiere on GMMTV's YouTube channel on July 9.
#7. LAWS OF ATTRACTION
To Sir With Love was one of the greatest BL Series I saw last year, and I'm thrilled that Jam and Film have paired up again. I'm honestly rather surprised that this series is already set to premiere next month, given that we only learned about it a few of months ago. Laws of Attraction follows Tinn, whose niece is denied justice for her untimely passing. Tinn meets Chan, a lawyer with a fresh perspective on life, as a result of this encounter. According to the teaser, Tinn and Chan have opposing philosophies and values, which is what makes this series so intriguing. Unlike their last project, Film's character has a nasty demeanor, and I'm intrigued what his character's turning moment will be. Laws of Attraction will premiere on July 15.
#8. WEDDING PLAN
It's fantastic to have a variety new BL series for July, especially considering the most of these are fairly adult and intense drama. Wedding Plan The Series is intended for those who prefer cheerful entertainment with little tension. I'm especially delighted since Wedding Plan has its own GL side pair, which will undoubtedly round out the series. Wedding Plan tells the story of Namnuea, a wedding planner who meets a bride-to-be and groom-to-be who are unsure about their wedding preparations. Namnuea has no idea that the soon-to-be married pair is being set up by their families. When Namnuea falls in love with the groom-to-be, he must suppress his feelings in order to complete his duty as a wedding planner. I'm hoping that the series turns out well because the premise has a lot of promise. Wedding Plan will premiere on iQiYi and YouTube on July 19.
#9. JUN AND JUN
I've watched the trailer for this upcoming Korean BL, and I'm now quite excited for it to be released. I'm already excited to witness their on-screen chemistry, and I'm hoping the execution is just as good. Jun and Jun tells the narrative of Lee Jun, who re-encounters his childhood first love, Choi Jun, as a hot general manager after he vanishes without a trace. Jun and Jun is an office romance series that also features another main couple. Jun and Jun will premiere on July 20.
July is a really unique month for all of us BL lovers, and all of the new BL series are quite exciting. I'm just praying that their release dates aren't pushed back and that everything is available internationally. Which of the forthcoming BL Series are you most excited for? Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now; see you on the next one.
