The 25 Best Enemies to Lovers BL Series Ever
The 25 Best Enemies to Lovers BL Series Ever
Enemies to Lovers is undoubtedly one of the most prominent themes and tropes in the BL series. In comparison to other tropes, this is by far the most fascinating in terms of anticipating what will happen to the main characters next. This article will provide a list of 25 foes to lovers BL series that will undoubtedly make our hearts melt! If you see any titles missing from this list, please leave a remark in the box below. Let's go straight into the blog, shall we?
#1. Not Me
BL shows had not been this difficult before the release of Not Me a year ago. Initially, the storyline focused on justice and societal disparities rather than their love bond. Nonetheless, the plot ensured that their emotions would evolve naturally as they carried out their objectives. Not Me tells the story of two identical twins, Black and White, who share a strong bond with one another. When their parents divorced, White traveled abroad with his father, leaving his twin behind. Several years later, White returns to Thailand and discovers that Black was violently attacked and became unconscious. White also discovers that his twin brother has joined a motorcycle gang, and one of them may be the perpetrator of the attack. The relationship between White and Sean isn't something we see very often, and this BL is definitely a work of art. Not Me is available on YouTube.
#2. We Best Love
Both seasons of We Best Love stay loyal to their nature as adversaries become lovers, which is why I fell in love with these shows. We Best Love tells the story of Shu Yi, who is consistently ranked second to Shi De in their high school. Shu Yi is overjoyed as they are set to go for college since Shi De will no longer be around. But he was taken aback when he spotted Shi De during a swimming competition during his senior year. It's one of the most popular foes to lovers BL series of all time, and you're missing out if you haven't seen it yet. WeTV airs We Best Love.
#3. Bad Buddy
Bad Buddy was one of the BL series that swept us up in 2021, and I'm still not over it. It was entertaining to watch, but it was also an exciting experience to anticipate what the main characters' ending would be. Bad Buddy tells the story of Pat and Pran, who have been enemies since they were children because of their families. Pat and Pran resolve to quit their competition and become friends in secret, without their families knowing. As they become closer, they begin to experience sensations they never thought to feel. The blend of romance comedy and adversaries to lovers helped Bad Buddy become one of the most successful BL series of all time. Bad Buddy is available in various places on YouTube and WeTV.
#4. Trapped
This BL initially aired in the year 2019, and even though it was not a local hit, internationally fans enjoyed it. History 3: Trapped tells the story of Tang Yi, a gang boss who would go to any length to locate his mentor's murderer. Shao Fei is likewise interested with learning more about the case and follows Tang Yi to see what he is up to. However, an unforeseen incident aids the two in understanding one other. I truly hope we get something like this today merely for the sake of diversity in the BL genres. History 3: Trapped is available in various places on Viki, YouTube, and Netflix.
#5. The Eclipse
The premise of enemies to lovers is already intriguing, but adding a mystery genre on top of that makes it much more so. The first part of The Eclipse had so much potential, but the ending received conflicting comments from fans. The Eclipse follows Ayan, a new strange kid at school who wants to defy the school's norms and regulations in order to demand the students' rights. Akk and his companions are charged with dissuading the so-called rebels, which leads to bad blood amongst them. I expected some sort of supernatural occurrence to occur in the conclusion, but at least we got to experience a new storyline twist. YouTube has a video of The Eclipse.
#6. Manner of Death
Manner of Death is one of the finest BL shows I've ever watched, and not just because of its plot, but also because of its actors. Unfortunately, one of the main actors has already declared his resignation from acting to begin a new chapter in his life. The rumored second season might not happen at all, or it may be recast. Manner of Death tells the story of Dr. Bunnakit, who performs an autopsy and discovers that a woman died as a result of homicide. Someone tries to intimidate him because of his knowledge, which causes his pal to disappear. Dr. Bunnakit discovers clues, all of which point to Tan, who denies everything. They join forces to track down the true perpetrator. Manner of Death is available on WeTV.
#7. Semantic Error
This is one of the most memorable enemies to lovers BL from 2022, and I want to see something similar in 2023. The natural chemistry of the main characters was one of the reasons I like this series. Semantic Error tells the story of Sang Woo, a university student who loves logic and rules above all else. When it came time to give a final presentation, Sang Woo opted to erase the names of his group members who had not assisted him. As a senior student planning to study abroad, Jae Young experiences a significant setback as a result of this. Their cat and dog battles will surely make you laugh. Semantic Error is available for viewing on Apple TV, Viki, and GaGaOOLala.
#8. Light On Me
Light On Me is another Korean BL that fits with this genre. It's been two years since it aired, but I still wish they could do another season together. There's also a love triangle between the main characters, which adds to the viewers' overall happiness. Tae Kyung, an 18-year-old high school student who has been a loner since childhood, is the protagonist of Light On Me. When Tae Kyung desires to make friends for the first time, he consults with his instructor and is urged to join the student council. There he meets the President, who is both handsome and friendly to him, as well as the Vice President, who treats him coldly. Light On Me is available on Viki and WeTV.
#9. Be My Favorite
Unlike some of the other titles on our list, the adversaries to lovers theme in this BL isn't as dramatic, but it's still there in some episodes. Be My Favorite tells the narrative of Kawi, who travels back in time to his high school days. Desperate to alter his future, he vows to go to whatever length to be with Pear, save his father from a grave illness, and get a new job. But his ambitions are thwarted when he discovers Pisaeng has affections for him. It's without a doubt one of the greatest BL dramas to have aired this year, and I'm hoping to see another fantasy-based foes to lovers BL drama in 2024. Be My Favorite is available on YouTube.
#10. Laws of Attraction
This Thai BL is still ongoing, but it has already established itself as one of the finest foes to loves to date. Even if I dislike the spectacular effects, the performance is among the best I've seen this year. Film did an excellent job of portraying Charn, and his grins sent chills down my spine. Tinn, who lost his niece in a car accident, is the protagonist of Laws of Attraction. Tinn really wanted justice for his niece, but he couldn't do anything because the suspect is the son of a senator. Charn, on the other hand, is a cutthroat lawyer who believes that money and power are the only things that matter in this world. Despite their differing viewpoints, the two must collaborate to solve the crime. Laws of Attraction videos may be found on iQiYi and YouTube.
#11. Poongduck 304
Unlike their last BL drama, which had a terrible ending, the main protagonists in this rom-com BL did not suffer the same fate. Their disputes from time to time confirm that this is a proper foes to lovers story. Roommates of Poongduck 304 tells the story of Ji Ho Jun, who is booted out of his father's house and forced to live on his own. Ho Jun and the owner have a bad first impression of each other after relocating to a new villa. But their situation becomes much more difficult when the villa's owner becomes Ho Jun's subordinate in their firm. We might not see one of the main actors in a BL for a time since he has successfully become an idol. Roommates of Poongduck 304 may be seen on Viki and GaGaOOLala.
#12. Dangerous Romance
This is simply a bonus because we only saw the second episode last night, but it's a terrific start. The tension between the two main characters is strong enough to convince me that this would make an excellent foes to lovers BL drama. Dangerous Romance tells the story of Sailom, a poor yet diligent student who has worked many jobs to pay off their debts. Their lives would be irrevocably changed if he and the bully Kanghan crossed paths. I like how Sailom doesn't allow his bullies bother him in any way. Dangerous Romance is available on YouTube.
If this list doesn't fulfill your craving for foes to lovers BL series, here are some more titles to look into:

The "Gear" is one of the mechanical engineering devices of a cogwheel system (like in a clock). Having one shows that you are a student at the Faculty of Engineering. Arthit, a third-year senior, frequently abuses his influence over the freshmen by forcing them to perform things that are outside the rules.
