7 Famous BL Actors Who Are No Longer Appearing in BL Series

It's no longer a secret in the industry that some new actors attempt to perform BLs in order to jumpstart their acting careers and get a large following. However, when they gain popularity, several actors stop doing BL dramas for personal reasons. In this blog, we shall highlight some of the actors who rose to prominence but are no longer seen in today's BL Series. Let's get started without further ado!

#1. Khunpol Pongpol Panyamit

Khunpol, well known as Bas in the 2020 BL series "I Told Sunset About You," has not appeared in any other BL dramas after 2021. Many fans appreciated him throughout the series, and many even acknowledged how much they adored his character as a result of his unrequited love for PP's character. Khunpol did not have any more shows after the sequel I Promised You The Moon aired in 2021, which might be attributed to Nadao Bangkok shifting focus on its business. Khunpol joined 789 Survival, a reality show created by TADA entertainment, formerly known as Nadao Bangkok, in 2023. He finally won the competition and will make his debut as an idol as part of the future Sonray Music new boy group. Even if he takes the route of an idol, I want to see him in future BL shows, even if only in a supporting role, because he has a natural gift for acting.

#2. Vachirawit Chivaaree

Bright has not done any BL shows other than his prior work since the ending of 2gether and Still 2gether in 2020. He created a number of drama series, notably F4 Thailand Boys Over Flower, which became quite successful internationally. Fans of Bright have been waiting for three years to see if the Thai actor will still play in a BL Series, but unfortunately, now that he is no longer a part of GMMTV, it is nearly difficult for him to form his own firm named Cloud9 Entertainment. There is no news on whether the mentioned firm would also create drama series, but for the time being, Bright plans to release a full English album in partnership with Universal Music Thailand through his new company.

#3. Billkin

Aside from Khunpol, Billkin quietly quit the BL industry after the second season of I Told Sunset About You in 2021, and we haven't heard anything about the actor's future projects since. Fortunately, Billkin also excels at music, and his career is centered on it rather than acting. It's simply too bad that, despite being hailed for his acting abilities, he never did another drama series after his previous project in 2021, and fans are still waiting for him whether it's a BL or not. Billkin is currently part of Billkin Entertainment, following the renaming of Nadao Bangkok in 2022.

#4. Metawin Opas-iamkajorn

After the tremendous success of 2gether in 2020, not only Bright, but also his co-actor Win, quit the BL industry. Although he appeared in many more dramas after then, none of them were BLs, and his fans are still hoping he would do another one next year. Now that Bright has built his own company, if GMMTV decides to grant Win another BL Series in the future, we should expect a different partner, which may be difficult for BrightWins fans. Anyway, Win will still star in the Thai adaption of a Korean webtoon called My ID is Gangnam Beauty, which will premiere early next year, so the chances of him having a BL in 2024 are still slim.

#5. Kanawut Traipipattanapong

Following the ending of TharnType Season 2 in 2021, we never saw Gulf in another Thai BL again. Gulf has since solely accepted Thai lakorns in order to increase his fame in his own nation. Gulf was recognized globally for his role as Type in TharnType, and he became extremely famous as a result of the series and the incredible chemistry he shared with his prior on-screen partner, Mew. Because of the two's differing goals, it's nearly difficult for the two to work together again. He secured a contract with Channel 3, one of Thailand's largest television networks, in March 2021. Gulf is also planning roughly 5 Thai lakorns for next year.

#6. Itthipat Thanit

God rose to prominence in 2017 as a result of his then-BL series 2 Moons, which aired globally. This garnered him a lot of notoriety, but soon after, he was caught in a controversy over not wanting to perform any more BL Series or even continue the sequels of the abovementioned series. After that event, he was cast as a supporting actor in ReminderS, but that was his final BL show, and he never returned. Since he hasn't done a BL show for four years, his popularity has progressively dwindled among BL fans. Nonetheless, God has done multiple Thai lakorns as main role in the last several years.

#7. Rathavit Kijworalak

Plan was one of the most appreciated Thai BL actors in 2018 due to his well-known role as Can in Love By Chance. Plan and Mean became so famous owing to the nature of their characters' love story in the series as enemies to lovers. Plan and Mean both starred in the Love By Chance sequel A Chance To Love in 2020, but it failed financially for a variety of reasons, including the retconned sequences from the first and second seasons. The disappearance of Saint's character had a significant influence on the series' popularity, however this was primarily due to Season 2's bad writing. He still appears in a number of TV shows as a main and supporting actor.

With fresh rookie actors entering the BL industry, it's rather heartbreaking to watch those actors we adored as BL fans take a different route. In a BL Series, which of these BL actors do you already miss? Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now; see you on the next one.
