    Thai BL series, unlike any other Asian BL series, frequently feature the same couple since it generates more buzz and appeal in the community. However, with the rescheduling of certain prominent on-screen BL couples in their respective series in recent years, we can conclude that it is now slightly evolving. In this article, we will highlight some of the past on-screen BL couples as well as their new partners. Let's go straight into the blog, shall we?

#1. OhmNanon / OhmLeng

 

    OhmNanon came to prominence in 2021 after appearing in the blockbuster drama Bad Buddy. Fans were taken aback by the match because Nanon had previously been shipped to his co-actor Chimon by his fans. Ohm and Nanon initially worked together on Blacklist in 2019, and their off-screen connection made them feel at ease when they played Pat and Pran in Bad Buddy. A year later, they appeared in Vice Versa, and in 2023, they reprised their roles as Pat and Pran in a special episode of OurSkyy Season 2. With all of these projects on their plates, the two stars were said to be at odds for personal reasons. Fans noted a little uneasiness during interviews, and both Nanon and Ohm appeared uneasy with their present predicament. Moving forward to next year, a forthcoming series starring Ohm and Leng is causing quite a stir on social media, with some fans already expressing their enthusiasm for the new pair. Aside from the main characters, fans are ecstatic since the narrative is unlike any other.

#2. ZeeSaint / ZeeNuNew

 

    Unlike Ohm and Nanon, who were thought to be feuding, the previous on-screen pair Zee and Saint did not suffer the same fate. Zee and Saint no longer contact because Saint is no longer a part of DoMunDi, the agency that presently manages Zee and his works. Because their project was concluded, they were no longer needed to do fan-services such as fan-meets, which is rather common for actors. Zee got another partner onscreen two years later, and people were pleased for them because of the chemistry they had. For the time being, ZeeNuNew has a sizable fan following, which is visible anytime new show is introduced. When The Next Prince premieres next year, their coupling will return.

#3. PodGawin / JossGawin

 

    Gawin is one of the few Thai actors who does not have a regular partner in the industry, which I think is a good thing for him. Gawin, like Ohm, isn't associated with the same partner in all of his BL shows, although his first was Pod. Many fans voiced their affection for the on-screen pair in Dark Blue Kiss, but they were never given the opportunity to work together again. He appeared in Not Me in 2021, and his partner was First. Their chemistry was off the charts, and their acting was flawless. This year, Gawin shared the screen with Krist, and while some fans disliked their coupling, I thought they did an excellent job in the show. Gawin will have a different partner in 2024, but this time it will be Joss. Fans were ecstatic about their collaboration, and the narrative of their new series is unlike any other GMMTV offering in 2024. Gawin has already demonstrated and strengthened his acting abilities.

#4. NeoPhuwin / PondPhuwin

 

    Neo and Phuwin were one of the main couples in the 2018 BL series 'Cause You're My Boy. They certainly got a lot of admirers from the series, despite the fact that the production quality was not up to par, even by 2018 standards. Following this series, they appeared in Our Skyy and Dark Blue Kiss, but in 2021, they made a reappearance in the series Fish Upon the Sky, playing close brothers. It was startling for their admirers, but it was also the time when Pond was revealed as Phuwin's new partner for the following years. Louis was introduced as Neo's new partner in the same series until their final series together in 2022. Pond and Phuwin will continue to be on-screen partners even in 2024, and fans are excited to learn about their upcoming series together.

#5. EarthNew / TayNew

 

    Despite the fact that TayNew became an on-screen couple for the first time in 2016 with Kiss the series, they were only given a minimal role in the show. Earth and New were the ones that had their first BL with Waterboyy in 2017. But their coupling didn't continue long because it was also their final endeavor as an on-screen couple. Earth and New were cast in Kiss Me Again in 2018, however this time it was Tay who played New's on-screen partner. GMMTV then declared Tay and New their official ship, even producing Dark Blue Kiss in 2019 for their followers as a continuation of Kiss and Kiss Me Again. Tay and New will make a comeback four years after their previous effort together with the translation of a popular Japanese manga called Cherry Magic. According to the company, the series will be released later this year.

#6. PerthSaint / PerthChimon

 

    PerthSaint was one of the most popular on-screen couples of 2018, and with the release of Love by Chance, they completely conquered the international population. With the support of their fans, that specific show introduced their names to prominence and made them extremely successful. Following the conflicts between Perth and Saint's management, the two featured in a short series called ReminderS in 2019. That was their final endeavor together. Perth joins GMMTV in 2022, three years after his last series with Saint, and has already had a cameo role in Vice Versa and a supporting role in Never Let Me Go, where he has a new on-screen partner - Chimon. The production company has given them a new series called Dangerous Romance in which they will be the main stars. The sitcom is still airing, and their fans are clearly smitten by their relationship. As of now, the two do not have any new projects planned for 2024, but if there are any, they may be unveiled during part two of GMMTV's annual event.

    Even though I'd prefer to see the same couples we've seen previously, I'm looking forward to seeing some of the newest on-screen couples because they have distinct dynamics.
