The 6 longest-running BL couples in the BL Industry!

The BL business has grown in popularity over the last several years, owing to the increasing quantity of BL series. Even after over a decade, some actors continue to portray on-screen couples and have long-term fanbases. In this blog, we will compile a list of the longest running BL couples in history. Without further ado, let us begin.

#01. OffGun

In terms of consistency as a GMMTV couple, OffGun is one of the BL couples that will still be relevant in 2024! OffGun gained to prominence in 2017 when they appeared as an on-screen couple in the series "Senior Secret Love Puppy Honey". The series was followed by a sequel the same year, and Gun was named one of the emerging stars of his age. The two made a reappearance in a special episode of Our Skyy the following year. OffGun ultimately received their own series in 2019, as the main characters in Theory of Love, which became one of the most popular series of all time. OffGun's roles in this series earned them the "Best Couple" prize at the 3rd Line TV Awards. Two years later, OffGun returned with a far better show and more tough roles in Not Me. This series demonstrated each actor's versatility in their art and established itself as one of the gold standards for BL series. OffGun made a significant career change in 2023 when they was cast in the romance comedy Cooking Crush. Surprisingly, GMMTV was able to reunite the on-screen couple for another series called "The Trainee," which is set to premiere this year or in 2025. Their roles in the new show are significantly different from their previous ones, but it remains to be seen whether this series will be a success or a failure. OffGun has become a household name among BL fans, and it's no wonder that they've risen to the ranks of the industry's most popular actors. If GMMTV decides to grant them another series, I hope the two actors star in a fantasy action-romance in which they may test their artistic abilities.

#02. SingtoKrist

SingtoKrist is one of the industry's original couples, and they are well-known among BL fans, particularly those who have supported them since 2016. SingtoKrist is most known for their performances in SOTUS The Series, which was released over 8 years ago, but the journey to that role was truly spectacular. It all began when Krist and Singto were still students at Kasetsart University, and the SOTUS system was already widely used in Thailand. In contrast to the series, Singto was Krist's senior rather than vice versa. The author of the novel on which the series was based released a photo of Singto while on duty as a head hazer with the hashtag "The Wicker Hazer and a Freshman Year Student." It quickly garnered popularity among fans and was serialized three years later on GMMTV. Following the massive success of SOTUS, GMMTV created a follow-up season in which the two played a somewhat reversed role in terms of dominance among their peers. SingtoKrist returned to their roles in a special episode of Our Skyy in 2018, which was their last project before GMMTV announced their new show in 2024. Despite the fact that they had not worked on any BL projects in the previous six years, the two continued to collaborate on series such as I'm Tee, Me Too, and various mini-series in between. Whether their new series comes out in 2024 or next year, I'm really thrilled to see them in another BL series.

#03. TayNew

TayNew is another GMMTV original couple, and we've known them since 2016. Most fans may have seen the shortened version of Kiss Me Again on YouTube, but TayNew really premiered in 2016 with the release of Kiss The Series. Their parts were only for the side story, as opposed to the follow-up season, which described how the two characters met and fell in love. Their triumph on their ship in "Kiss Me Again" resulted in a special episode on Our Skyy that same year. GMMTV decided to grant them the third part of the Kiss series named "Dark Blue Kiss" in 2019, and they became even more popular among BL lovers. With a four-year gap, fans speculated that their ship would no longer operate as a couple, but GMMTV stunned the polcas by announcing a Thai version of Cherry Magic in 2022. The next year, TayNew returned as an on-screen couple as Karan and Achi. Even though they won't be appearing in any more BL series in the near future, both actors will appear in a new series called "Peaceful Property" later this year.

#04. MaxNat

In addition to GMMTV artists, we have an on-screen couple under Domundi who have been together since 2020. I remember MaxNat being one of the side couples in Why R U, and he has since become one of my favorites. Their screen time on that series was minimal, yet they nevertheless managed to capture the interest of some viewers. In the same year, MaxNat appeared in one episode of the drama series "You Never Eat Alone". MaxNat's first roles in the series Y-Destiny and Close Friend came in 2021. Both actors earned next-level notoriety among BL fans after being cast in one of the most famous BL series, "Cutie Pie" in 2022. MaxNat received their own series called "Naughty Babe" last year, which strengthened the pair's connection even more. MaxNat is presently starring in a different series called "Two Worlds" and will celebrate their fifth anniversary this year (in the business).

#05. BounPrem

BounPrem is another well-known on-screen BL couple, and it's hard to think it's been years since we first saw them. BounPrem appeared in "Until We Meet Again" in 2019, and despite the fact that they were merely a side couple, their roles helped them achieve popularity. BounPrem made a reappearance in one of the episodes of 7 Project, two years after their debut. In 2022, BounPrem received two complete BL series: Even Sun and Between Us. Even Sun was their first BL that year, followed by Between Us, which tells the story from their point of view, as opposed to Until We Meet Again. Studio Wabi Sabi announced their next series "Vampire Project" in 2023, however owing to BounPrem's shift to GMMTV this year, their future project is now titled "Revamp" and is expected to premiere somewhere in 2024 to 2025.

#06. YinWar

YinWar was one of the on-screen BL couples that rose to prominence during the epidemic era, and they continue to be famous among fans today. The on-screen couple began their connection during one of the mini-series titled "En of Love," when they appeared as main characters in Love Mechanics. A year later, YinWar received another mini-series titled "The Best Story," which received generally positive reviews from those who saw it. The next year, YinWar returned their roles in the re-make of "Love Mechanics," but this time as a full-fledged series with a much larger story than the mini-series. YinWar will feature in another BL series named "Jack & Joker" this year, which will be very different from previous work. The series will make its premiere this year, with filming beginning on May 14.

These on-screen BL couples have already weathered the test of time, but I'd want to see the industry experiment with rearranging BL actors in other pairings. This would result in new actor pairings and interactions. Thank you for reading! That's it, and I'll see you on the next one.
