8 New BL Series Set to Be Released in June 2024!

    Time certainly flies, and we're almost halfway through the year. In this blog, we will provide a list of new forthcoming BL series for the month of June, as well as what to expect from these new dramas. #1. My Love Mix-Up

 

    The premiere of My Love Mix-Up next month will mark the first time GMMTV has shown four BL series in a single month, and we are not complaining. This also marks the return of Gemini and Fourth to the BL industry following their successful stay in My School President in 2022. My Love Mix-Up tells the story of Atom, a shy and awkward high school student who secretly has a crush on Matmi, the girl sitting next to him in class. When Atom borrows Matmi's eraser, he is irritated to see the name of another boy, Kongthap, on it. To make things even more complicated, Kongthap notices his name on the eraser as Atom is holding it and believes Atom has a crush on him. We saw the Japanese adaptation with the same name in 2021, and it is quite popular among fans. Take note that copyright and distribution may influence the show's availability to internationally viewers. VIU Thailand will show My Love Mix-Up on June 7.

#2. Love Sea

 

    We undoubtedly miss Fort and Peat, as we last saw them as main characters in Love in the Air in 2022. Two years later, Fort and Peat are back in considerably more adventurous roles, which really excites us. Love Sea tells the story of Tongrak, a well-known writer who enjoys writing romance books. While going to find inspiration for his new romantic novel, he encounters Mahasamut, an annoying Southern Thai guy. When they end up in bed together, Tongrak discovers his next idea. There are many outstanding continuing BL dramas right now, but adding this series to our list will undoubtedly provide us with a different dynamic and color of new drama. Love Sea premieres on iQiYi on June 9.

#3. Let's Eat Together, Aki & Haru 2

    This film is a sequel to Let's Eat Together Aki & Haru, which first aired in 2023. Just be aware that it is a food-centric film, so you may feel hungry while viewing the prequel to this drama. Let's Eat Together, Aki & Haru 2 tells the story of Aki and Haru, two college students who have diverse personalities and difficulties but share a love of eating. Some reviewers claimed it was a heartwarming film with a lot of lovely moments between the main characters, so the sequel is undoubtedly fascinating to see what happens next. Because it is a movie, we may see it on streaming platforms after many months after its international release. For the time being, Let's Eat Together, Aki & Haru 2 will be shown in Japanese cinemas.

#4. Sunset x Vibes

 

    Whether on or off screen, MosBank's chemistry is undeniable, and happily, we'll be receiving another series from them next month! Their last BL drama may have had mixed reviews on some websites, but I'm hopeful that their next one will have a better story and execution. Sunset x Vibes tells the story of Salin, a young guy who has recurring dreams about another man dressed in traditional Thai attire every full moon. Not only does he look good, but he also smells like night blossoming jasmine. On his 18th birthday, the apparition vanishes from his life without a word. During his internship, he is surprised to learn that the picture he saw in his dreams is the CEO Sun Suriyen. With the inclusion of this series to our list of BL series for June, it will undoubtedly be more adult. Sunset x Vibes will premiere on June 15 on iQiYi.

#5. The Rebound

 

    The title alone gives us a sense of what this BL may be. It's another series featuring our favorite couple "MeenPing" from Ai Long Nhai and My Dear Gangster Oppa, which premiered in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Some fans like MeenPing's chemistry, while others criticize their acting performances, particularly Ping. Since I fell in love with Meen and Est's chemistry on A Chance To Love in 2020. As of yet, there is no official trailer or synopsis for The Rebound, but we do know that it is a sports-centric series, including basketball. Meen is a natural at various activities, so this will be an entertaining series to watch. The Rebound premieres on June 26, with new episodes every Wednesday and Thursday.

#6. Blue Boys 2

    The first season ended earlier this month, but a new season is set to premiere in June. Just moderate your expectations because the first season was clearly a low-budget series; the second season may be better overall owing to its popularity, but we'll see once it airs. Blue Boys 2 tells the story of Jae Min, a young man who is bored of studying for a profession and discovers a new route after having a one-night encounter with Nam Yi, a former high school classmate he meets by accident. However, Nam Yi's employment causes difficulties between the two. The second season of Blue Boys will premiere on YouTube in June.

    Aside from these titles, there are more forthcoming BL series that might premiere this month.

#7. Boy Bestfriend 2

    

    It is a sequel to the Khmer BL film, which aired earlier this year. Boy Bestfriend 2, like its prequel, will be accessible for streaming on the Sastra Film App in June.

#8. Born To Be Y

 

    This Thai BL was believed to be released earlier this year, however owing to the production company's closure, the fate of this drama remains unknown. As of now, Born to Be Y is supposed to be picked up by another company and released in June.
