My 18 Most Expected Upcoming Thai BL Series for 2025!

    Many of us may not feel as enthusiastic about the upcoming Thai BL dramas, likely because some tend to be quite repetitive and may not attract everyone's interest. However, personally, I still find several intriguing Thai BL series to anticipate in 2025, as they provide something unique or perhaps just capture a specific vibe. #01. REVAMP

 

    Beyond my love for BounPrem series, I'm also a big enthusiast of vampire shows. In terms of this genre, I prefer more supernatural elements over actual romance, though it ultimately comes down to the script quality. As for the director of this series, my feelings are mixed; there have been previous shows I wasn't particularly fond of, but there are also some great ones like My Only 12% and Until We Meet Again. It has been nearly nine months, and during that time, the production company hasn't initiated filming yet, so it's reasonable to think that this series might premiere in the latter part of 2025. The initial teaser has provided some clues about what we can expect from the series, but without the full trailer, it's difficult to foresee what lies ahead.

#02. I'M THE MOST BEAUTIFUL COUNT

 

    Since the official pilot was released last year, I've already determined that this series would be added to my watchlist upon its debut. The protagonist of the show is quite appealing, and based on the official pilot, I would really enjoy his character. As for the release date, there are whispers suggesting that this series will premiere after the conclusion of Pit Babe Season 2. The latter is expected to air around April, so we might anticipate this series to debut sometime in July, which is six months away. Although that seems like a lengthy wait, a quality series requires quality production as well.

#03. MY MAGIC PROPHECY

 

    I'm uncertain if this series falls under the fantasy genre, but it definitely has a magical quality, even though the pilot has a somewhat dark tone. JimmySea is back with another show, and I'm really hoping this one surpasses their previous drama, although that might be a tough challenge for the entire team. Regarding the director, this series features the same director from "The Sign," which was truly one of the best series we experienced in 2023 to 2024, so I believe we can anticipate a fantastic show with this one.

#04. BURNOUT SYNDROME

 

    Having been a huge fan of Not Me for nearly 4 years since its release, I’m certainly not going to miss this series. In addition to its rather dark plot, OffGun will be the main leads, and the inclusion of Dew adds to my excitement for this show. Their on-screen chemistry is incredible, and I really hope that it carries over into the series. Speaking of Not Me, the same director will be at the helm for this drama, and one of the screenwriters from that show will also be involved. I’m looking forward to this series surpassing Not Me in both greatness and success.

#05. MEMOIR OF RATI

 

    The most recent BL series I watched was "I Feel You Linger In The Air," which became my favorite series back in 2023. Having a similar genre might be crucial for it to become one of the top series once again, but it will ultimately hinge on the show's writing. The chemistry between the main couple is already evident, and I’m thrilled they have the opportunity to take on something significant like this. I just hope the plot features an engaging storyline to captivate the audience's interest.

#06. LOVE OF SILOM

 

    One of the returning BL couples in 2025 is UpPoom, and I'm excited that they will be featured again in a serious drama series. While I enjoy romantic comedies, I believe this genre suits them perfectly, especially given their acting skills. I just hope that their scenes in this new series will be even more intense than in their earlier works, and I also wish that their relationship won't be as unhealthy as in "My Stand In," which disappointed many fans previously.

#07. RESET

    The official pilot has just been released, and I'm already looking forward to its premiere in 2025. A series featuring Pond as the lead character always captures my interest due to his impressive acting skills. He certainly shares great chemistry with his new co-star, but I’m particularly eager to see how the characters interact throughout the series. The storyline actually reminds me of "My Stand In" and various vertical shorts I’ve come across on other social media lately, so it will be quite a challenge for the production team to carve out its own unique identity. I really hope the release date comes sooner rather than later.

#08. MY GOLDEN BLOOD

 

    Similar to Revamp, My Golden Blood is another anticipated Thai BL series featuring a vampire theme, though it has a different set of main characters. JossGawin is an emerging on-screen duo from GMMTV, and there's a lot of excitement surrounding their debut since audiences have seen their chemistry previously. Additionally, I find the storyline intriguing, but I hope that the action sequences and special effects are improved when the series premieres this year.

#09. THE EX-MORNING

 

    It's well-known that I'm a big admirer of Singto and Krist ever since their SOTUS days, and I was thrilled when GMMTV revealed their new series last year. Even though the two actors portrayed different characters in I'm Tee Me Too back in 2020, that show wasn't actually a BL series. Nine years after their initial collaboration, it's thrilling to see if they still have the same chemistry as before and what the storyline of their new show will be. According to some updates we've received, new information will be disclosed to the public following the Krist-Singto fanmeet in Japan next week.

#10. THE RED ENVELOPE

 

    It has been nearly four years since the last installment of the BKPP series, and during that time, the two actors have concentrated more on their individual careers. Fortunately, our cherished BKPP is set to release a new film later this year, inspired by the Taiwanese movie "Marry My Dead Body." I haven't watched it yet, likely because it wasn't labeled as a BL, but I'm curious to see whether this new adaptation will stay true to the original or offer its own interpretation.

#11. TICKET TO HEAVEN

 

    Even though it's expected to release in 2026, I can't help but keep discussing this series until it finally premieres. This likely stands out as the most contentious series GMMTV has produced in years, and I'm eagerly anticipating what lies ahead. I'm pleased that the dynamic and tension between Gemini and Fourth are set to be elevated, and I'm excited to see if the series will conclude on a happy note, a sad one, or perhaps even with an ambiguous ending.

#12. KHEMJIRA

 

    As someone who has always been apprehensive about horror series, I'm genuinely surprised to find myself intrigued by this one, especially since it falls into the horror genre. It might be the actors' charisma in the official pilot that sparks my excitement for their storyline, but I'm hopeful that the writing will be strong as well. When it comes to visuals, I won't deny that this series stands out as one of the most impressive in that aspect, so let's hope that all of this excellence translates well in the final series. Currently, the production is still ongoing, so we can anticipate it to premiere sometime around the second quarter or possibly the third quarter if there are any setbacks.
