Most Anticipated Thai BL Series of 2025!
I understand that there are already many BL series airing and set to premiere in August, but I can't overlook these official trailers and teasers. In this blog post, we will explore a list of some newly announced upcoming BL series that look really promising. If I've left out any titles from this list, please don't hesitate to mention them in the comments. Now, let's dive in!
#1. REVAMP: THE UNDEAD STORY
The official trailer for a highly anticipated vampire BL series from GMMTV has just been unveiled, and I have to say—I was truly taken aback by what I witnessed. Revamp has been on my radar for quite a while, particularly due to its initial promise of a "dark-toned vampire narrative," a rarity in the BL genre. When the first pilot trailer was released over a year ago, it conveyed that type of atmosphere—mysterious, intense, and full of intrigue. However, the recently launched trailer indicates a different creative approach. While the supernatural and vampiric elements remain key to the storyline, there is now a clear fusion of tones. We observe glimpses of light-hearted humor in the exchanges between the main characters, contrasted with more serious and dramatic scenes involving the supporting cast. Naturally, the romantic elements are still intricately woven into the plot, though they are now balanced with these diverse moods. I'm still uncertain about whether this change in tone will enhance or detract from the original vision, but I do value that the narrative seems more deeply rooted in the lore of its vampire characters. For some viewers, this shift might spark questions about why the series deviated from its initially darker premise. Nonetheless, it could be premature to form a judgment as sometimes a trailer fails to encapsulate the entire story. In fact, this surprising tonal alteration could make Revamp even more captivating. It introduces an element of unpredictability, leaving us curious about how all these seemingly disparate tones—comedy, romance, drama, and supernatural suspense—will merge in the final product. And for that reason, this series might just astound us in ways we never anticipated. Revamp The Undead Story centers around Punn, a vintage shop proprietor who inadvertently awakens a powerless vampire named Ramil after bleeding onto an enigmatic painting. As Ramil becomes the target of vampire hunters, Punn must assist him in regaining his strength by locating his former servants who are hiding among humans. Revamp The Undead Story is set to premiere on August 23 on YouTube and iQiYi.
#2. THE WICKED GAME
If Revamp was an unexpected disappointment, The Wicked Game emerges as a delightful surprise that many of us didn't anticipate seeing today. Although we've only been given a glimpse through the official teaser, it's more than sufficient to make a lasting impact. From the captivating charisma of the lead actors to the engaging charm of the supporting characters, every moment radiates a level of finesse and intrigue that instantly draws attention. My first thought can be summed up as: "This is incredibly bold and appealing!" I have always recognized the exceptional on-screen chemistry between Daou and Offroad, but The Wicked Game takes their dynamic to new heights. Even in this brief look at their interactions, the tension and connection are strong enough to generate authentic excitement and anticipation for the show's premiere. Beyond the romantic elements, what truly piques my interest is the exploration of family dynamics and intricate relationships interwoven into the plot. The teaser suggests complex connections, emotional confrontations, and instances of raw vulnerability, all brought to life by a stellar cast whose performances are nothing short of remarkable. It's uncommon to encounter a BL drama featuring such a well-rounded ensemble, where each character feels vital and every performance enriches the story. With its alluring leads, robust supporting cast, and the promise of a daring yet emotionally resonant narrative, The Wicked Game is poised to be one of the most thrilling BL releases approaching. Personally, I can't wait to take it all in. The Wicked Game narrates the tale of Than, a relaxed police officer assigned to safeguard Pheem, the reserved and strategic heir of a wealthy family owning a hospital, following an assassination attempt. As Than reveals the solitude lurking behind Pheem's cold demeanor, his warmth gradually penetrates, even as threats against Pheem and the family's secrets continue to escalate. The Wicked Game is expected to premiere sometime this year.
#3. LOVE IN THE MOONLIGHT
This upcoming series is anything but your average BL drama. Instead of solely concentrating on sweet, lighthearted moments between the two protagonists, it explores the intricate complexities of their relationship, showcasing the challenges, emotional struggles, and societal expectations they confront. Its premise reminds me of To Sir With Love, where the storyline is significantly shaped by political intrigue and the influence of powerful older figures in society. A particularly captivating aspect is the introduction of an arranged marriage within the storyline, which immediately injects tension, moral challenges, and nuanced character motivations. I am particularly interested in the interaction among the three main characters and how their interconnected destinies will develop. Although there’s a chance that the conclusion may not meet the romantic resolution many of us desire, I believe that the emotional journey and dramatic narrative will make it an engaging viewing experience from beginning to end. Enhancing its charm is the undeniable chemistry between the fresh pairing at the helm of the series. Their connection feels genuine and intense, which could further amplify the drama. With all these factors combined, this series has the potential to be both emotionally impactful and memorable. Love In The Moonlight revolves around Prince Saenkaew, who is dispatched to Bangkok in 1995 to marry Pin in a union that aims to secure his family’s assets. While Pin is open to the match, her brother Sasin’s initial doubts evolve into an unexpected romance as he becomes closer to the prince and discovers the reality of his sense of responsibility. Love In The Moonlight is set to premiere later this year.
I would really enjoy discussing Soul Mate, but given that there hasn't been any news about its release or an official trailer, it might be best to save that for another time. Which recently announced BL series are you most looking forward to based on its teaser or trailer? Thank you for taking the time to read! That's all for now, and I’ll see you next time.
