My picks for the most anticipated BL series in the fourth quarter of 2021. (October - December)
Time has indeed flown by, and we are already in the fourth quarter of the year. Since the start of the new year, fans have been anticipating a number of forthcoming BL series that have yet to premiere. This is especially true for GMMTV's BLs, who have only published two series since the year began. In this blog, I'll share with you my most anticipated BL series from the previous quarter, as well as provide information on certain BLs that have been postponed till next year. Don't forget to leave a comment with your own list. Let's get started without further ado.
#9. Baker Boys
Despite the fact that Baker Boys is not a BL series, I'm nonetheless enthusiastic for it because of the intriguing teaser and, of course, the excellent cast. With the twist of Singto's character being so clinging, Lee and Singto in one series is a must-see. Baker Boys is based on the manga "Antique Baker," for those who are unaware. There have previously been live adaptations of this, such as "Antique," a Japanese series adaptation, and "Antique Bakery," a Korean film adaptation, which I have not seen in order to anticipate the storyline of the series as well as the hype around the Thai version. The story of four guys who work in a prominent bakery and their secrets will be told in Baker Boys. With the disappearance of youngsters from the bakery, a reporter will investigate why this occurs. There is currently no official date, but it is expected to be announced before the end of the year.
#8. Enchante
Enchante is another forthcoming BL series from GMMTV. I've been expecting the arrival of this BL on our screens since it was announced last year, but owing to production delays, it's unclear when it will be accessible globally. Unlike Baker Boys, several of the Enchante's cast members are new to me, thus I'm looking forward to seeing how the major characters interact and how they perform as actors. Enchante may be another University-themed BL, but with its intriguing plot, it will undoubtedly stand out from the crowd. Enchante is the narrative of Theo, who returns to Thailand after studying in France to attend his father's school. Theo discovers a welcoming book in the library, which piques his interest as to who is behind it. Enchante is currently in the process of filming.
#7. 2gether The Movie
Even though 2gether and Still 2gether ended over a year ago, I'm still not through with Sarawat and Tine's tale. 2gether isn't ideal in terms of manufacturing, but it does assist the BL industry become more well-known in other areas of the world than it was a few years ago. 2gether The Movie will be released in Thai theatres on November 4, despite having been shown in Japan in June. This BL will have the whole 2gether The Series and Still 2gether series, as well as some additional scenes to tie the storylines together.
#6. Between Us (Special)
The forthcoming BL series "Between Us," starring Boun and Prem, has been touted since last year, but due to the epidemic, the series has yet to premiere. But don't panic, there will be a special episode of Between Us airing shortly to offer fans and audiences some information on what to expect from the new program. There's no word yet on what the special episode's narrative will be, but anything is better than nothing. Between Us The Series has been postponed till 2022.
#5. Gameboys
Season 2 of the blockbuster Filipino BL "Gameboys" is expected to premiere in the coming months. Last July 30, Gameboys The Movie was launched, and people all around the world appreciated the film's fascinating tale. According to some fans, Gameboys Season 2 is identical to the film, but with a longer length and more sequences. I'm not sure whether it's real, but I'm still interested to see how Gav and Cairo's love story unfolds.
#4. My Sweet Dear
Another Korean BL is set to release on October 21, and I'm excited to watch how the two main characters interact. Aside from the characters themselves, what intrigues me about this BL is the storyline of two chefs, each with their own personality and culinary technique. Food-themed BLs are on the increase in the second half of 2021, which I believe is beneficial for the business as a whole. My Sweet Dear tells the story of Yoon Do Gun, a skilled chef in Laura Dining, and Choi Joong Woo, a chef who excels at duplicating other people's successful recipes. With Joong Woo joining the kitchen alongside Yoon Do Gun, there will be rivalry between the two, but there will also be romance.
#3. Cutie Pie The Series
I've been eager to see Cutie Pie since the teaser was released 5 months ago due of the premise. Fixed marriage isn't exactly new in terms of series, but putting it into a BL is something we'd want to see. There is currently no information on when it will be released to the general public, but I anticipate seeing it around the last month of 2021 or early 2022.
#2. Not Me The Series
I've been looking forward to seeing the next BL series of Off and Gun, but because to the pandemic, it was pushed out to a later date. However, they have confirmed that it will be released in 2021, which is a little later than normal. I'm most eager about Gun's two characters in the story because he's never done something like that before in a BL. Not Me is also not a university-themed BL series, in contrast to previous BLs like Theory of Love and Puppy Honey.
#1. Bad Buddy
With Ohm and Nanon teasers circulating the internet, I can't wait for the series to premiere. Despite the lack of an official announcement, I have a feeling it will be published later this month or in early November. I'm looking forward to seeing how the first BL of Nanon turns out, as well as his relationship with Ohm, since Bad Buddy was revealed last year. Overall, my excitement for Bad Buddy is sky-high, and I can't wait for the series to begin.
Here are some of the BLs that were planned to be released in 2021 but were instead pushed back to 2022: KinnPorsche, Between Us, The Miracle of Teddy Bear, My Engineer Season 2, Love Mechanics, and a slew of more shows.
And those are the BL series I'm most looking forward to seeing in the final month of 2021. What BL would you want to see before the end of the year? Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now, and I'll see you on the next one.
