SPOILER FOR EPISODE 6 OF THE BAD BUDDY SERIES
SPOILER FOR EPISODE 6 OF THE BAD BUDDY SERIES
Bad Buddy The Series is just in its fifth episode, but the build-up of the moments in the most recent episode has already made it quite compelling. Last week, I chose not to write a blog for Episode 5, and I'm happy I didn't since the narrative of the series has just caught up to the novel. In this blog, I'll share my views and ideas on Episodes 4 and 5, as well as some discrepancies I've seen in the series and some novel spoilers. Before you go, don't forget to leave a comment below with your opinions on the series thus far. Let's get started without further ado.
My Opinions on Episode 4
I'll simply put a couple of sentences here because I wasn't able to talk about Episode 4 of Bad Buddy last week. The fourth episode was created from Pran's point of view, same as the novel. The small details they provided to help Pran develop feelings for Pat were outstanding to be excellent. Nanon's facial expressions contributed significantly to the scene's complexity and accurately conveyed the character's emotions. I also loved how they incorporated Ink as a character in this episode due of her upbeat demeanor throughout. Pat confessing to Pran that he likes Ink in the closing scene was equally sad to see. I was expecting both of them to say they don't like her, so I was startled when Pat answered the opposite. Overall, I believe Episode 4 reflected Pran's thoughts better than any other episode in the series, which I think is outstanding.
My Opinions on Episode 5
I knew there would be jealousy issues in this episode because Pat revealed to Pran that he liked Ink in the previous episode. I'm particularly delighted they included sequences in which Pat feels envious of Wai due of his relationship with Pran. The band competition provided another reason for the moments that provoked both characters' emotions to be built up. Because the series is so different from the novel, I was concerned about how they would present the jealous sequences for both characters when I read the novel version a few weeks ago, but I was pleasantly surprised by episode 5. Apart from that, the rooftop kissing moment was a chef's kiss, not just because of how talented they are kissers, but also because of how good they are at expressing their feelings via their kiss. To summarize my feelings, I can only say that this episode was simply outstanding.
Nat was replaced by Ink.
If you've already read Bad Buddy, you'll know that Nat, not Ink, was the individual who was related to Pat. Since I've only read 12 chapters so far, the novel hasn't introduced any characters named Ink, albeit there are people in the novel that aren't in the series. Over be honest, I prefer Ink to Nat because of Nat's past in the novel. Because of her affections for Pat, Nat felt a little protective of him. Ink is a more positive character than the others in the story, and she really draws Pat and Pran closer together.
Endgame for Ink and Pa
There had been a lot of speculation that Pa might wind up with Ink in the series since Ink's appearance in the previous episode. I couldn't confirm or reject any of those because Ink wasn't in the story at all. However, if we examine some of the scenes closely, we may conclude that Ink and Pa are the endgame, based on their acts in the most recent episode, however this might also indicate that we are overthinking things. Anyway, if Ink and Pa end up together in the series, that's excellent since it means GL will appear in future GMMTV shows.
Kissing Scene between Pat and Pran
This isn't a spoiler, but I just wanted to clarify something about Pat and Pran's kissing sequence from the most recent episode. We expected Pat and Pran to hug each other after they kissed on the rooftop since they were now able to express their emotions openly. Pran, on the other hand, stormed away, leaving Pat with a sad expression. We can't blame Pran for doing that because he was still heartbroken when Pat admitted that he liked Ink to him. Pran's situation is a little more problematic because Pat's actions contradicted his claims. Furthermore, Pran may believe that the animosity between their families will just stifle their love and that they will never be able to be together, as was the case during their high school years.
What Happens Next
Wai was concerned for Pran's safety after leaving him and Pat together, so he contacted Pran that night. Pran was really telling Pat to take a shower and then sleep thereafter at the time. Pat, on the other hand, was adamant on following Pran. Wai instantly asked his pals what Pat had done to him when Pran answered the phone. Wai should remain cool and listen to Pran first, according to Pran. Pran explained to Wai why Pat had come to him that night. Pat simply wanted to apologize for striking Wai too hard, Pran said. Pran was shocked when he heard a loud boom as Pat slammed his fist onto the table. Pat hugged Pran in the back afterward, while still on the phone with Wai. When Pran felt a kiss on the back of his neck, he was taken aback. Pran abruptly hung up and stated that he was still working on their project. Pran had threatened Pat with sleeping outside his room if he didn't stop touching his back. Pat let him go right away and sat on the couch. This sequence was really lovely, and I'd want to see it in the series so we could have some fluffy scenes after episode 5, which was a little sad for all of us.
Pat Was Nearly Caught by Wai in Pran's Room
Pat was ready to kiss Pran in his room when this scenario occurred. Someone unexpectedly came on his home and inquired as to who was with Pran at the time. Pat bolted towards the balcony, hoping to get away from Wai. Wai inquired as to who Pran was conversing with, but Pran just replied that it was the television. Wai also observed some new shoes, clothing, and a rabbit doll in Pran's room, but Pran just replied it belonged to one of his friends. Wai became intrigued and inquired as to what he was talking about. After that, Pran just stated that Wai was in a hurry, but Wai denied this. Wai asked Pran if he might gaze out his balcony window since the scenery was beautiful. Pran claimed it was a shambles, but Wai insisted. Pat leaped from Pran's room to his room's balcony, spraining his ankle in the process. Pa instantly stepped in to assist his brother in tending to his wounds. Pat was in a basketball game with the Engineering squad against the Architecture team when this event occurred. I'm not sure whether that sequence would make it into the show, but it could be redone as a football game.
I'm looking forward to seeing the next episode of Bad Buddy, just like everyone else, and I can't wait to watch how their relationship develops. It's clear from Episode 5 that we should expect the unexpected, which means there might be a lot of shocks in store for us. What are your thoughts on the episode? Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now, and I'll see you on the next one.
