SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 2 OF THE BAD BUDDY SERIES

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 2 OF THE BAD BUDDY SERIES

Hello, my name is Monsieur Daniel, and I'd like to welcome you back to my blogs. In this blog, I'll mostly discuss my thoughts on the first episode, how it differs from the novel, and what situations we could see in the following episode. Let's get started without further ado.

Bad Buddy (2021)

Relationship between Pat and Pran

Before I go any further, I'd want to state that I've only read the first 5 chapters of the novel in order to keep up with the series' tempo. In the beginning of the story, the series could only portray a few minutes of Pat and Pran's connection, but in the novel, the writer could go on and on about their extensive backstory. In case you missed it in the first episode, Pat and Pran are not super foes like their groups. There are several sequences in the series that I haven't seen in the novel, as well as scenes from the novel that were not included in the first episode. Unlike in the previous episode, their groups are always at odds with one another because they simply want to win from one another, even if there is no compelling reason to do so. They simply want to fight each other. When it comes to Pat and Pran, the novel scenes are a little more vicious; they really hut a lot when their gangs collide. When the novel's first argument occurs, Pa urges Pat to apologize to Pran for his actions. Pa also stated that she would not be treating his brother's wounds and that he should instead go to Pran. Pat went to Pran's room in the next scene of the narrative. Because he no longer had cotton swabs in his room, Pat bugged Pran to only cure his wounds. Pran just opted to treat Pat's wounds in the end.

Scenery on the Water

This is a tiny detail in the series, but I wanted to bring out how it differs from the novel. When Pa drowned in the lake in the series, Pran rushed to her aid and rescued her to safety. Pat, unlike in the series, was unable to go to help his sister since he was unable to swim. When Pran struck him in the face and questioned if he didn't want to save his little sister, he snapped back to reality. That is also the start of them not being friends, but also not being foes.

Feelings of Pat and Pran

Although the series does not explicitly state this, there are occasions throughout the novel where both of them reveal that they like one other, even if they do not express it. Pat is always trying to bother Pran by entering into his room while Pran is irritated by Pat's messiness.

A Chance Meeting at the Bar

The incident at the bar is another distinction between the series and the novel. Only Wai and a few of his pals were present in the pub when the battle with Pat's crew broke out in the series. Pran and his buddies were drinking in the store after a difficult day working on their thesis in the novel. Suddenly, Pat and his companions entered the shop, the former with a grin on his face. Wai told his buddies that they are all in a sour mood right now because of their opponents' looks. Pran calmed them down by telling them that Pat's group is the same way, and they shouldn't focus on them. Wai replied to Pran that it will only happen if the other party does not interfere. Pran is shown lying down on his sofa after a few hours, suffering the agony in his body as a result of the battle. Pat was suddenly banging on his door, and it was Korn who began the fight, which was quite similar to the Korn who began the battle in the end portion of Episode 1.

Greetings, Wife/My Pran

I'm not sure if this section of the novel will be included in the series, but I thought it was quite sweet. Pat used to have a bunny doll that he would always embrace while sleeping. Pat once slept on Pran's bed since Pa didn't want him to enter the room because he had a fist fight with Pran. When Pat slept in Pran's room, he brought his rabbit doll with him. Pat went to Pran's room to retrieve his rabbit toy one day when he was so intoxicated, but it was only a pretext for Pat to slip back into Pran's room and sleep again. When Pran was furious with Pat, the latter apologized and referred to Pran as his loving wife. Of course, this infuriated Pran even more, so Pat apologized once more for being so dirty in Pran's room. When Pran cooled down after speaking with Pat, Pat's thinking understood that Pran wasn't all that bad. He even thought to himself that his Pran is attractive.

Observations on Episode 1

Bad Buddy The Series is one of the most anticipated BL series of the year, and I believe the first episode set the tone for the rest of the series. As the majority of fans have stated, the long wait was well worth it. In the first episode, the normal atmosphere of Thai BL is apparent, which is really a nice thing if I were asked. Because there was no awkwardness between Ohm and Nanon, their chemistry is what makes this series even better. I thought the interaction between them was quite genuine in front of the camera, which added to the realism of the series. The series' speed is a little faster than you may expect, but it's actually the same as the novel's. Overall, Bad Buddy is off to a wonderful start, and I'm looking forward to further surprises in the series.

Just a warning that this spoiler blog is based only on the novel, so use caution. This blog is just for individuals interested in learning more about Bad Buddy from the novel perspective in order to compare it to the series. What are your thoughts on Bad Buddy's debut episode? Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now, and I'll see you on the next one.
