SPOILER FOR EPISODE 8 OF THE BAD BUDDY SERIES
SPOILER FOR EPISODE 8 OF THE BAD BUDDY SERIES
As of right now, Episode 7 of Bad Buddy The Series is unquestionably my favorite episode. It features a lot of charming and fluffy sequences while yet keeping the story's substance. Although it does not follow the novel chapter by chapter, it does not fail to amaze us with its narrative in each episode. Despite the fact that episode 7 was already full of nice sequences, episode 8 appears to be much sweeter now that Pat and Pran are officially together. However, we must not be complacent or relaxed since there may be drama amongst their friends as well as Pat's father. In this blog, I'll discuss my thoughts on Episode 7 as well as several sequences from the novel that may appear in future episodes. Let's get started without further ado.
My Opinions on Episode 7
As I already stated, episode 7 provided us with many nice and fluffy sequences of Pat and Pran. Their chemistry with one another is something I like since it let the viewers believe in those situations. I'm also glad that Pran's parents are open to the thought that their son may have a boyfriend rather than a girlfriend now that we're in the current day, even if they didn't approve of Pran's connection with the guy next door. The rivalry between the two added a layer of sweetness to the moments, and it was quite magical. Although I believe this episode to be my favorite, it isn't without flaws. Pat was revealed to be envious at the incident where Wai returned Pran's guitar to him. But, despite the fact that it isn't a major issue, it was never addressed in any subsequent scenes. Wai can also be manipulative at times, as he tries to get Pran to perform his work for him. Nonetheless, I still adore Wai and find myself staring at him throughout his situations. Finally, the kissing moment in the last act was both amusing and lovely. Overall, Episode 7 exceeded my expectations, and I'm hopeful that the upcoming episodes will be just as good, if not better.
Wai, Pa, and Ink
I've been thinking since Episode 5 that Ink and Pa would make a terrific pair if they were presented as such. Although we might envision a love triangle by having Wai as the third person in Episode 7, this only emphasizes that it may happen. It would be chaotic if Wai continued to hit Pa, because Pat is her elder brother, and we already know that Wai and Pat would not reconcile. If Ink and Pa end up together, it would be a huge step forward since other production companies would see the possibility for GL tales and, of course, various pairings in the series. In any case, either Ink and Pa or Pa and Wai would be a storyline game-changer.
Pat was defeated by Pran.
Because they are naturally competitive with one another, I know that the deal they struck in the previous episode will provide us with a lot of nice situations. But it's lovely to watch Pat allowing Pran to win their deal. Pat didn't care if he lost to Pran on their agreement as long as he could spend time with him. Pat would jeopardize his friendships with his friends in order to be with Pran openly and not hide their connection in public, just as we witnessed in the novel. Pat would go to any length to be with Pran, even if their loved ones were opposed to their relationship.
Freshman Year
Although this isn't a major storyline point for the remainder of the episodes until the finale, it's important noting because it's one of the reasons why the series' plot differs from the novel's. There was a time jump in episode 7 as they went to their sophomore year. They are already in their fourth year in the book, and Pran is clearly preoccupied with ensuring that their assignments are completed on schedule. Pat was always there to support Pran and ran errands for him, as well as bother him every night, because he was so busy staying up late for countless nights. Despite the fact that we didn't receive the same lovely sequences as in the book, the series managed to create its own and make it more cuter.
At the Medical Center
Pran brought Pat to the hospital after the fight due of his injuries. Pran remained with Pat for a few days to make sure he was okay and didn't have any significant head trauma. Pat was once subjected to a CT scan to ensure that he was in perfect health. To be honest, Pat was apprehensive about doing it, but Pran pushed him to do it so that he could have peace of mind about Pat's health. Wai also visited the hospital and brought food to the patient, despite his protests that he did not want to assist Pat. Wai arrived to the hospital for another reason: to get his car back, but he changed his mind and told Pran to drive Pat home. Wai also told Pran that he didn't have to worry about their buddies because they were aware of Pran's feelings for Pat.
Date with a Movie
If my memory serves me properly, this was Pat and Pran's first date, albeit it was never stated that they were dating. Pat had come to the Architecture department at the moment to meet Pran, but all eyes were on him because it was the first time they had seen him in their department. Pat approached Pran as soon as he exited their building and invited him to see a movie with him. Pran was first hesitant, but after being persuaded by his boyfriend, he ultimately agreed. They went to a Japanese restaurant after watching an action movie. Pran's favorite food is ice cream, so the two also bought some. Pat licked the opposite side of the ice cream as Pran was enjoying his. Pran was taken aback and pulled Pat aside. Pat could see Pran felt timid as a result of what he'd done. Following that, the two returned home to allow Pran to continue his work. Pat failed to inform Pran that he had ice cream residue on his face, and the latter was enraged when Pat failed to inform him. Pat brushed the gunk off his hands, but Pran's lips drew his attention. The two were already kissing one other a few seconds later when Wai dialed Pran's phone number.
Marriage that has been arranged
Pat was pushed to return home by his sister since he hadn't seen their parents in a long time. Pa was worried that if Pat refused to go, their mother would come to their dormitory to get him. Pat didn't want it to happen because his parents were unaware that Pran shared a dorm with him. While Pat and his family were eating supper at their home, Pat's mother said that he appeared to be melancholy. Pat would need someone to look after him, she reasoned, and Pat and his boyhood buddy Punch would make a fantastic match. Pat was adamant about not doing it, but his mother pushed. Pat was frustrated and wanted to shout in the back of his mind.
