Korean BLs will be held in 2022

Korean BLs have been making waves in the BL business for the past two years, thanks to their handsome performers and intriguing story ideas. Korean BLs are notorious for having short series, but it doesn't mean they aren't as entertaining as other BLs from across the world. This blog will include a ranking of my favorite Korean BLs as well as an update on the list of future Korean BLs for 2022. What are your current fave Korean BLs, if you were to be asked? Let us know what you think in the comments area below. Let's get started without further ado.

#10. MY SWEET DEAR

This Korean BL was released in the fourth quarter of last year, but I only recently binge-watched it. To be honest, I enjoyed the first four episodes of the series, but the next four felt disjointed from the overall plot. Yoon Do Gun's quick shift in demeanor towards Jung Woo felt hurried, and I was surprised that they had already fallen in love in such a short period of time. That's most likely due to the limited amount of episodes, but I think the build-up might have been stronger. The main characters' chemistry was decent, but I wasn't too involved in their relationship. Overall, My Sweet Dear had a lot of promise in terms of concept, but it fell short in terms of execution.

#9. MR. HEART

I haven't seen this BL in over a year, but I still recall the most of the scenes. Although the primary narrative of this BL was light and fluffy, it's nice to see that the major characters have backstories to help them grow. If I had to choose one flaw with this film, it would be the antagonism between Sang Ha and the loan shark company. I never felt threatened by their image versus our main characters throughout the series, which altered how I felt about the BL's finale. Overall, the narrative was superb, and the main characters' chemistry was among the greatest of its period.

#8. WISH YOU

One of the reasons I watched Wish You was because music is one of my favorite things in the world. To be honest, the Korean BL series wasn't quite as excellent as the movie version, which seemed more linked. Probably because of the scene's editing. Furthermore, I felt that the finale lacked substance and that it was insufficient to conclude the tale. Although the storyline was not as great as some of the others on this list, the plot idea was one of the finest in Korean BLs.

#7. COLOR RUSH

With Season 2 on the horizon, I'm sure some of you are rewatching the first season again. When I first saw this BL, I felt the premise was interesting and had a lot of promise if executed properly. Unfortunately, I was dissatisfied with the conclusion, despite the fact that it left opportunity for a second season, which did occur. Unfortunately, one of the key characters will not be returning for the upcoming season, which might result in a whole different tale for this BL.

#6. TINTED WITH YOU

I just completed binge-watching this BL after it ended airing, and I really enjoy the theme. I wish this series had more episodes since the blend of history and fantasy is one-of-a-kind. The plot was good, but the execution was weak in certain aspects, particularly when it came to the personalities and some of the important characters' backstories. Also, I was cheering for Eun Ho and Heon to be together, but Geum's love for the crown prince was so powerful that I almost succumbed to second-lead syndrome. It would be really intriguing if there was a second season focused on the ramifications of their changing the past. Tinted With You is an excellent start for a Korean BL in 2022.

#5. PEACH OF TIME

I used to watch this when it first aired, but I stopped for no apparent reason. Fortunately, I was able to binge-watch this Korean-Thai BL last week, and I can say that it was a nice BL with flaws. The employment of two languages was the first thing that struck me about this one. It was startling at first, but as the episodes progressed, it became more normal. Next, I was worried by Peach's conversation with Yoon Oh as another person stood nearby. Anyway, I can tell that the tale was also fantastic, but seeing it would undoubtedly leave us with a sorrowful heart.

#4. WHERE YOUR EYES LINGER

This series is still one of my favorite BLs of all time because it was the first Korean BL I ever saw. Despite the fact that it is a short film, the primary characters' growth was not overly complicated, and the main leads wowed us with their fantastic chemistry. When it initially aired, the narrative wasn't great, but it did give us a fresh flavor of BL. Where Your Eyes Linger has weathered the test of time in general.

#3. YOU MAKE ME DANCE

When I originally watched this BL, I assumed it would be similar to other Korean BLs in that it would have brief episodes with a random narrative and then end. However, it exceeded my expectations and was one of the most gorgeous Korean BLs I had ever seen. The primary leads had wonderful chemistry, and everything was good in and of itself. I really wish we could have learned Shin On's backstory about why his mother abandoned him after she married another man. You Make Me Dance is, nonetheless, an easily recommendable series and film.

#2. TO MY STAR

To My Star was in my Top 9 for my overall rating of BLs for 2021, therefore it's no surprise that it's in second place on this list. To My Star wasn't very noteworthy, yet it provided all of the essentials and did everything correctly. The chemistry was there, and the tale was moving along nicely. I'm only waiting for the second season of this show to start airing later this year.

#1. LIGHT ON ME

Since this BL was previously my top pick for 2021, it's only fitting that Light On Me is now my favorite Korean BL. Because it was lengthier, this BL was a little bit different from the others on the list. The characters' chemistry was also among the greatest I've seen, and the tale was light enough that it's easy to recommend to everyone. I'm only hoping for a new season of this Korean BL in the near future.

Korean BLs may already be well-known to a large number of fans, but in 2022 they will be even more active by publishing a large number of series. Here are a few Korean BLs that will be released this year.

COLOR RUSH SEASON 2 - January 21, 2022

However, as their relationship became stronger, inexplicable events became increasingly uncomfortable for Yeon Woo, who ultimately discovered Yoo Han had vanished, along with his mother. Yeon Woo swears he'll go to any length to find his "probe" and mother. When a classmate called Se Hyun learns about Yeon Woo's mission, he vows to support and defend him, and the two form a close bond. But Se Hyun is hiding something, and Yeon Woo could be about to find out... SEMANTIC ERROR - February 16, 2022

Chu Sang Woo, a computer science major, exemplifies a rigid and rule-abiding personality. Sang Woo makes the reasonable decision to delete freeloaders' names from the final presentation while working on a liberal arts group project with them. But he had no idea how attached he'd been with the guy whose study-abroad aspirations had been jeopardized as a result of the initiative. The individual implicated is Jang Jae Young, a well-known campus figure from the Department of Design. Except for Chu Sang Woo, he has everything: talents, appearance, a solid family background, and good relationships. What happens when an engineer and an artist with opposing personalities are forced to collaborate? In Chu Sang Woo's perfect world, Jang Jae Young is a semantic blunder. Sang Woo, will you be able to debug this?

TO MY STAR SEASON 2 - Soon

"To My Star" returns for a second season.

*plus a whole lot more

Because Korean BLs are often shorter than other BLs, binge-watching them all at once is easy. I simply wish Korean BLs were more innovative and open in order to properly use those incredible stories. What are your favorite Korean BLs? Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now, and I'll see you on the next one.
