BL Series 2022: 8 Best Schools
BL Series 2022: 8 Best Schools
With the emergence of diverse genres, the list of School BL Series over the previous two years is growing less and shorter. It's not a negative thing, because instead of the conventional plotline, we may witness a lot of unique concepts and themes. School BL series, like any other genre this year, are becoming considerably more fascinating with fresh narrative twists. This genre has a lot of supporters, thus it shouldn't be overlooked. In this blog, I'll tell you about the eight best school BL series from the previous year, in my opinion. If you have a favorite school BL series of your own, please share it with us in the comments area. Let's get straight into the blog without further ado.
#1. BAD BUDDY
The introduction of Bad Buddy shook the fourth quarter of 2021 and provided us a solid first month of 2022 due of its narrative. The typical romantic comedy formula was applied in this drama, but the director's artistry and OhmNanon's chemistry elevated it to new heights. Unlike previous BL dramas, Bad Buddy was an easy choice due to its light plot and the fact that most tensions were addressed by the finale. Even with the arrival of new BL series this year, it will be difficult to surpass Bad Buddy in terms of romantic comedy school BL series, and I believe it will take a long time. Bad Buddy is now, in my view, the second finest BL series created by GMMTV. It's well worth your time to watch it a few times.
#2. MY LOVE MIX-UP
My Love Mix-Up stood its own against some of the finest school BL series. Japanese BL series are noted for having a distinctive and excellent narrative. I never expected a simple misunderstanding to develop to a romantic comedy narrative, and watching this beautiful series has been a lovely experience. Because it is a romantic comedy series, My Love Mix-Up is similar to Cherry Magic, and both are equally fantastic. If you haven't watched it yet, it's a no-brainer to add it to your watchlist as one of the greatest school BL series of the year.
#3. FISH UPON THE SKY
With their enormous catalogues, GMMTV is the place to go when it comes to school BL series options. Fish Upon The Sky was one of the few school BL series that aired in 2021, and I think it was a decent one at the time. There were only a few ongoing BL's at the time, and Fish Upon The Sky was the ideal choice to watch since, aside from the light tale, the comedy parts made me laugh a lot. Because it's a school BL series, the most of the scenes took place at a university, yet the couples' chemistry provided it a tiny advantage above other BLs. Overall, if you want good laughs and a romantic pair, Fish Upon The Sky is the perfect BL series to watch.
#4. LIGHT ON ME
When I first started watching this Korean BL last year, it gave me fresh life and offered me a new viewpoint on Korean BLs. If you've been following Korean BLs since 2020, starting with Where Your Eyes Linger, you'll know that most Korean BLs have just 8 episodes on average, with each episode lasting roughly 10 to 15 minutes. However, with the debut of Light On Me, we can see that Korean BLs have a lot of promise if they are given enough time and episodes. Even though drama had a simple love triangle narrative, Light On Me was fantastic. Even though there were just a few actors on the show, it was still fun to watch till the finish. I'm hoping that future BL series will follow in the footsteps of Light On Me in terms of production.
#5. ENCHANTE
The latest GMMTV school BL series is definitely on our list, and it's giving me a different flavor than the other BL series I'm watching right now. The mystery surrounding Enchanté's character adds a fascinating twist to the standard school BL formula. Despite the fact that the narrative isn't really unique, I'm really loving the show because of the supporting characters and, in particular, the chemistry of the main pair. I understand that this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's still worth seeing if you enjoy lighthearted stories.
#6. MY BEAUTIFUL MAN
The first part of the series focuses on our main characters' high school life, while the second part focuses on their professional lives. My Beautiful Man had a strange narrative, as I already stated, but the tale was incredibly exciting in terms of how it would conclude. Thankfully, I chose to watch the entire series in one sitting last year, and it completely changed my perspective on the plot. I had a strange feeling at first and assumed the series would be a letdown, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved it.
#7. SEMANTIC ERROR
I recently finished watching the Korean BL, which ended last week. Because of how excellent the characters in this series are, Semantic Error has simply lifted the bar even higher for Korean BLs. I haven't seen the manhwa that this BL was based on, but I can tell that they did an excellent job depicting their characters in live action, and it was very breathtaking. The main characters' relationship was fantastic, and I'd love to see them again in another season or maybe in another series. Semantic Error certainly increased the bar in terms of creating a simple plot that stands out on its own.
#8. CUTIE PIE
Because of the plot's nature, this BL is a blend of both business and school BL series. Although the school aspect of this series is minor in comparison to the major genre, it does provide depth to the tale. Seeing the same environment every episode might get dull, but having a range of genres throughout the whole show keeps viewers interested throughout the series. Because of the personalities and their relationship, Cutie Pie is bringing my Sunday night to life. While it may not be on par with some of the others on this list, I thoroughly appreciate each episode of this BL.
We are not complaining because the School BL series are among the greatest and most innovative in the world of BL. We may not agree with some of these BLs, but we can't deny that it is one of the most entertaining genres to watch. Which of the BL school series is your favorite? Thank you for taking the time to read this! That's all for now, and I'll see you on the next one.
