I'm now watching seven BL series (June 2022)
We're halfway through June, and there are still a lot of BLs on the air or set to run shortly. However, in this blog, I'll focus on what I'm presently watching and how I feel about these BL series. Some of these series are among the greatest I've watched this year, while others may be suitable for casual viewing. What BL series are you currently watching this month? Please add your list to the comments area below. Let's get straight into the blog without further ado.
#1. MR. UNLUCKY HAS NO CHOICE BUT TO KISS
This is more of a concluding comment and views regarding the Japanese BL that I just completed watching this week. This BL got off to a great start, and I can honestly say that I spent the majority of my time watching it. To be honest, the past few episodes were not my favorites, but given the narrative is somewhat constrained, it's not too awful. The main characters' chemistry is also a plus in the series, and it's one of the factors that makes it so good. If there is one thing I would modify for this BL, it would be to loosen up the character of Fukuhara in the series' closing episodes. I was hoping for a time when Fukuhara would get more calm with Shinomiya, but it didn't happen until the very last second. Nonetheless, I had a fantastic time watching Mr. Unlucky Has No Choice But To Kiss and enjoyed the plot.
#2. KINNPORSCHE
This is a no-brainer for me since I've always wanted to see BLs take their production and narrative even farther. Since then, KinnPorsche has consistently given great results, and its popularity continues to rise. One thing I was worried about before the release of this BL was that it would be a little too serious for me, but it turns out to be a mix of genres. There's no denying that our main characters' chemistry is off the charts, and I'd love to see them in other series as well. I'm hoping that with only four episodes remaining for KinnPorsche, they'll be able to cover everything without rushing the ending, but it'll be a tough one.
#3. SKY IN YOUR HEART
I just finished watching the third episode. In terms of scenario and people, this is vastly different from Star In My Mind. The plot centers around the story of two volunteers, thus it's easy to compare it to A Tale Of Thousand Stars, but they're not the same. A Tale Of Thousand Stars is more of a drama, whereas Sky In Your Heart is more of a romantic comedy. After the first episode, I was hooked on this BL. I'm emotionally immersed in the narrative.
#4. TO MY STAR 2: OUR UNTOLD STORIES
The first season was released last year, and happily, season 2 is now out, so we won't have to wait much longer. I was genuinely surprised to see the narrative of season 2 because everything seemed to be going well at the end of season 1. I've only seen the first four episodes, but I'm already worried about whether the main characters will reconcile in the future or whether their problems will remain unresolved. For some individuals, the words Han Ji Woo stated to Seo Joon in episode 2 that caused their split may not seem significant, but we all have different personalities. I'm looking for an explanation as to why the two split up so that the new season may be justified.
#5. OCEAN LIKES ME
Ocean Likes Me is the second Korean BL that I'm presently watching in June, and to be honest, I was on the verge of abandoning it after only watching the first episode. This series' first episode did not pique my interest, so I'm pleased I saw the second episode, which ultimately drew my attention to it. Ocean Likes Me follows in the footsteps of previous Korean BLs in that the episodes are merely 10 to 15 minutes long. It's difficult to tell a complete story in so short of a period, but I was able to figure out where the series is going. I've only seen the first three episodes, but I'm already engrossed in the story and want to see what happens next. This isn't one of the greatest Korean BLs out there, but it's a fun series to watch for a while.
#6. MY SECRET LOVE
I only watched the first episode of this BL to see whether it was right for me, and I like it. To be honest, the first part of the first episode isn't the finest, but the rest of it was genuinely fantastic in terms of enjoyment. Because it's based on the enemies to lovers cliche, I expected the main characters to have distinct opinions and personalities, which this series delivered in the first episode. My Secret Love may not have a revolutionary premise, but it is a series that delivers a popular genre with its own distinct taste.
#7. TRIAGE THE SERIES
It's now time for me to look at Triage, two months after it was officially released. Whether it's a BL, a Korean Drama, or any other show, fantasy is one of my favorite genres. Because of the way the narrative is delivered, it effortlessly draws my interest. In terms of Triage, the notion of a time loop is what excites me the most as I anticipate future episodes. I've seen the ninth episode and am curious to see where the narrative for our two main characters is leading. Because it's a medical series, some of the words are difficult to grasp, so I always pause to make sure I understand what they're trying to express. Because of the time loop, I felt Tin's anger in the first episode, and he was an excellent actor for me. This is going to be one of my favorite series of the year.
Aside from the BL series I'm presently watching, there are other forthcoming BLs in June that could pique your curiosity. The number of BL series has grown so quickly that keeping up with them all is difficult. What BL series are you currently watching this month in June? Thank you for stopping by! That's all for now, and I'll see you on the next one.
