2022's TOP 10 Enemies to Lovers BL Series
2022's TOP 10 Enemies to Lovers BL Series
The enemies to lovers trope is one of the greatest ones used in BLs. Most likely because the interactions between the main characters are always entertaining to see and it is the most engaging narrative in practically love stories. We'll cover the top 10 "enemies to lovers" BLs in this article, as well as those that are only ideas. What BL Series do you enjoy watching the most? Let us know about it in the comment section below. Now, without further ado, let's begin.
#1. WE BEST LOVE S1 & S2
We immediately think of both seasons of We Best Love when discussing enemies to lovers BLs. This BL truly got the idea down and, thanks to their chemistry, made it even better. Another aspect of this BL that I liked was how they were able to depict both office romance and university romance in various seasons while maintaining the same theme of enemies to lovers. Its reputation as one of the finest enemies to lovers BLs of all time was further cemented by the excellent acting. Shu Yi and Shi De, who are rivals in their school's academics and extracurricular activities, are the characters of the story in We Best Love. Shi De consistently earns the top spot in their school, while Shu Yi consistently comes in second. When they are at college, Shu Yi is overjoyed to finally be ranked first, but then Shi De shows up. He had no idea that Shi De was constantly keeping an eye on him.
#2. SEMANTIC ERROR
Who could ever forget this Korean BL that swept us off our feet while it was airing? One of the most well-known BLs this year is Semantic Error, in part because it is a live-action adaptation of the same-named manhwa and also because it has an enemies-to-lovers storyline with endearing lead characters. In the drama Semantic Error, Chu Sang Woo, who always puts following the rules before everything else, contrasts sharply with Jae Young. Chu Sang Woo resolves to completely delete their names when Jae Young and his pals allow him to finish their group activities alone, which prevents Jae Young from graduating on time.
#3. SOTUS
This is a classic BL and one of the first mainstream BL shows to use the cliché of enemies becoming lovers. The two main characters' interactions have always been the focus of this BL. Although the main characters' on-screen chemistry is quite strong, not everyone is a fan of this couple. SOTUS depicts the story of Arthit, a senior engineering student in his third year who frequently abuses his power over the freshman pupils. However, one student steps up to defend his friends and classmates, which will sour relations between the two. Unaware of it, their frequent interactions will lead to the two of them being much more loving.
#4. THE ECLIPSE
This is the newest BL in the line up, and it's already telling us a fantastic story. The difference between First and Khaotung's personalities and acting styles for their respective personas is particularly striking. The flirtatious and feisty Ayan makes me feel a lot of things, and his enigmatic attitude contributes to the plot's intrigue. Because of his excessive insistence on adhering to rules and regulations, the powerful and authoritarian Akk also does a superb job of getting me angry in every scene. Akk, the head student prefect, who usually strictly enforces the school regulations to his other students, and Ayan, a transferee from a rival school who will rock Akk's world, are the main characters in The Eclipse.
#5. HISTORY 3: TRAPPED
The "Enemies to Lovers" cliché? I'm quite confident that the majority of Taiwanese BLs would make the cut, however HIStory 3: Trapped is one of the most famous series. It's unquestionably a masterpiece and one of the first BL series to combine the romance and action genres into one. Meng and Tang Yi had some of the most intriguing chemistry I have ever witnessed, and they made a terrific enemies-to-lovers combo. In HIStory 3: Trapped, a police officer is obsessed with finding the truth about an incident that occurred four years ago so that he may get revenge on the person who killed his mentor. To do that, he must watch every move Tang Yi makes in order to determine what he intends to do.
#6. THARNTYPE
TharnType The Series, one of the most well-liked enemies-to-lovers BL series in Thai BLs, is still regarded by many fans as one of the most unforgettable even three years after it first aired. Well, TharnType received mixed reviews as a result of several contentious situations in its series, so keep that in mind if you're thinking of watching this BL. In TharnType, an attractive freshman with a love of spicy cuisine and soccer is the main character. Type may be attractive, but he detests homosexuals without a doubt. But once he learns that his roommate is gay, everything will change. Fair enough, this BL has a lot of warning signs to begin with, so take this as a heads-up before viewing.
#7. KINNPORSCHE
Technically, Kinn and Porsche weren't enemies when they first met, but their relationship really began as enemies when Porsche agreed to be Kinn's bodyguard. The two couples in this BL have exceptional chemistry, which increases my interest in seeing the entire series. It's best to be aware of these before viewing this BL since, similar to TharnType, there are certain delicate issues or moments that you could find upsetting. The son of the Mafia boss flees from his enemies in KinnPorsche's story. Fortunately, Kinn sees Porsche and calls on him to help. However, the latter declines unless he gives him a considerable amount. From that moment on, Kinn has his sights set on Porsche and is determined to employ him as his personal bodyguard at any means.
#8. I TOLD SUNSET ABOUT YOU
The two main characters in this BL did not begin as enemies but as friends, if we were to evaluate it. But because of a misunderstanding, the young men competed against one another to become better actors. Since Teh and Oh shown depth in their personalities throughout the entire show, they are among of my favorite characters. Additionally, despite the fact that their romance is really painful, I find myself loving them due to their chemistry. In I Told Sunset About You, Teh and Oh, who were childhood best friends before growing apart as adults because they had the same dream, are shown. The two eventually cross paths in a Chinese language class years later, which puts them in an awkward situation.
#9. HISTORY 3: MAKE OUR DAYS COUNT
Make Our Days Count is included in HIStory 3's third season, with the exception of the conclusion. Even after all these years, I occasionally still have nightmares where the traumatic ending haunts me. It's not uncommon for BLs to have heartbreaking endings, but whenever it does, it's still upsetting to witness the characters in such a dire circumstance. In HIStory 3: Make Our Days Count, two characters who seem to be complete opposites are introduced. Hao Ting is extroverted and may be a bully, whereas Xi Gu just wants to keep a low profile and concentrate on what is most important to him. In their school, the two are from different worlds, but their paths eventually intersect due to a female classmate.
#10. MANNER OF DEATH
If my preferred Manner Of Death isn't on this list, it won't be complete. Due to its nature, its narrative tends to be more serious than the lighthearted ones of other series. This series' integration of mystery and medicine is absolutely amazing and puts it in a different level from other shows. Since I first saw Max and Tul in Bad Romance, their chemistry has been among the greatest I have ever witnessed. The series Manner of Death tells the story of a medical examiner who does an autopsy on a woman's body and discovers that it was actually a homicide rather than a suicide. He thereby becomes the focus of a very powerful individual.
Enemies to lovers BL series are still pretty popular even in 2022, and I believe that there will be many more coming out in the future. Which of the BL Series' enemies to lovers is your favorite? I appreciate you reading. I'll see you on the next one, then.
