The 14 Best Bad Boy - Good Boy BL Series So Far!

The 14 Best Bad Boy - Good Boy BL Series So Far!

Cute and sweet BL dramas have long been the most popular genre in the industry, and the current offers demonstrate this. However, there are times when a love story between a good and a bad boy is so compelling that we can't stop watching. In this blog, we will provide a list of BL dramas centered on the love story of a good boy and a bad boy for the main couples. If you have any additional recommendations, please share them in the comments section below. Without further ado, let us begin.

#01. Laws of Attraction

JamFilm may have officially declared their on-screen coupling break due to upcoming projects, but their BL dramas are undeniably among the greatest we've seen in recent years. One of these is Laws of Attraction, and while it did not receive the attention it deserved, the story is unusual for a BL. Laws of Attraction tells the story of Tinn, a man who lost his niece in a car accident, and Charn, a cunning and cruel lawyer who would do everything for money and power. When Charn was ousted as the case's lawyer, he used Tinn to exact revenge on the senator. With their opposing values, they will have a difficult time resolving the matter.

#02. Only Friends

This Thai BL drama is full of love stories between good boys and bad boys, and some viewers will undoubtedly like it. The toxicity in their relationships adds to the story's intrigue, yet I believe these characters retain some realism. Only Friends tells the story of a quartet of friends—Mew, Ray, Boston, and Nam—who manage a hostel together. The entrance of Top to the gang generated friction between Mew and Boston, who both love Top, and Ray, who has a profound crush on Mew. Sand, on the other hand, wants an exclusive relationship with Ray, but the latter has no intention of compromising. Nick, an IT guy, wants to be romantically connected with Boston, rather than in their present friends-with-benefits arrangement. Their tough position will begin to have an impact on their most valuable friendship.

#03. A Shoulder To Cry On

Korean BL dramas are known for being sweet and cute, but A Shoulder to Cry On differs from that in terms of the main characters' original plots. Tae Hyun isn't all that horrible when compared to some of the other main leads in this lineup, but he did some bothersome things to the main character that started their relationship. A Shoulder to Cry On tells the story of Lee Da Yeol, a brilliant archer who has received a scholarship to the school. When Tae Hyun inadvertently jeopardized Da Yeol's scholarship, the latter became so enraged that he could not endure the former's presence. But as they spent time together, Lee Da Yeol learned about Tae Hyun's dark history.

#04. End of the World With You

Because of what he did to our main character, the main lead is well suited for this part. Ritsu is one of the red flags we've ever had in a BL, and I have to say he's one of those awful characters I'd like not have as the main character. The End of the World with You tells the story of Masumi, a young guy who devotes his whole life to office job. But when the news emerged that the world would end in 10 days, he opted to spend his final days at his college library. Unfortunately, he is reunited with the man who crushed his heart some years ago. With the clock winding down to the end of the world, the two rekindle their romance.

#05. Love In The Air

Love in the Air is one of the most popular bad boys/good boys BL series in this lineup, as well as one of the best-loved series all time. If it were only about their chemistry, these couples would win hands down, and they are also rather adorable. Love in the Air tells the story of two closest friends, Rain and Sky, who happen to meet Payu and Prapai. This young man will offer them not just the romance they did not ask for, but also some difficulties along the way.

#06. Theory of Love

This Thai BL series may be OffGun's most popular, but it is also the most despised. It wasn't because the series was horrible, but because Off was such a nasty character. But his actions were successful, as I wept my heart out when watching this show for the first time. Theory of Love tells the story of Third, a film major student who has intense feelings for his closest buddy, Khai. Third kept his feelings to himself for three years, but they started showing up when things became more serious between the two of them. Khai, on the other hand, is a notorious womanizer with a "no dating friends" policy. When Third's heartache became unbearable, he determined to put an end to his feelings for good. But Khai discovers the truth and begins to win the love of his closest buddy.

#07. KinnPorsche

We won't miss the most popular Bad Boy/Good Boy BL series, and this cliché affects all three couples in the drama. Whether it's Kinn and Porsche, Vegas and Pete, or Kim and Chay, they all personified the characteristics of a bad boy and a good boy before becoming officially couples, with the exception of the latter. KinnPorsche tells the story of Kinn, the second son of a Mafia leader, who recruits Porsche as his personal bodyguard after witnessing his combat abilities. Their love-hate relationship was clear throughout the series, and the supporting characters added depth to the plot. Porsche's job was first focused solely on business. However, when they confronted their enemies, Kinn and Porsche began to develop feelings.

#08. My Stand In

The entire fandom is now divided on whether Ming deserves a second opportunity to win Joe's trust, and I believe we will find out shortly with the inevitable finale. When it comes to Bad Boy Good Boy love stories, I immediately think of Joe and Ming's situation, which is made even more problematic by the body-swap notion. My Stand In tells the story of Joe, the stuntman for famed actor Tong. When he met Ming, his life altered for both good and terrible. Ming merely sees him as a stand-in for Tong and doesn't care about his feelings at first. Joe was forced to join a foreign set after being barred from the industry, and he died as a result of an accident while doing a stunt. Two years later, Joe awoke in a different body with the same name. Will history repeat itself when he returns to the industry in which he previously worked?

#09. I Will Knock You

I Will Knock You is a funny Thai BL comedy sitcom about an adolescent criminal and his instructor. The protagonist unwittingly offends the imposing gang boss. To his dismay, they keep encountering each other in delightfully embarrassing situations. As the leads connect, they develop a tutor-student relationship dynamic. The main character assists his uneducated partner in becoming more knowledgeable. I Will Knock You exudes an irresistible appeal. This unusual comedy tells an entertaining story via bizarre settings, odd humour, and old-timey flair. However, the wild, crazy storyline frequently descends into silly and senseless hijinks. Furthermore, the mismatched coupling does not create a convincing relationship. A few amusing quips can't save a stupidly infantile BL drama.

#10. Not Me

Not Me is a Thai BL action series. To find out what happened to his hospitalized brother, the protagonist adopts the persona of his twin. Previously, his sibling was a member of a mystery organization that planned hostile operations. The main character infiltrates the faction, attempting to gain their trust while remaining covert. However, when emotions rise dramatically, he is suspected by one member in particular. Not Me appears to be a fascinating thriller, full of intrigue, mystery, and suspense. Deep down, the important story goes beyond the BL genre, expressing volumes about activism, justice, and change in our society. The insightful lessons, passionate relationships, and great acting combine to create a memorable series that has a significant impact.

#11. My Dear Gangster Oppa

My Dear Gangster Oppa is a Thai BL series that follows two internet gamers from diverse backgrounds. The protagonist is a lonely student who turns to video games for companionship. He plans a real-life meet with his cyber companion, a remarkably smart hunk. However, the protagonist is unaware that his new friend is involved in criminal activity. They must manage a complicated relationship as their unconventional lifestyles collide. The first several episodes of My Dear Gangster Oppa showed potential. The lovely, eccentric relationships between a gamer and a gangster seems appealing. Both handsome stars form a telegenic couple, carrying the series on the strength of their excellent looks. However, the story drags on and wastes time with a love triangle. The latter several episodes derail with illogical turmoil and irritating story developments.

#12. History 3: Trapped

I never expected to witness a BL drama about the mafia, but HIStory 3: Trapped has lived up to its name and made history. This Taiwanese BL drama follows the unexpected relationship between a police investigator and a mafia lord. I enjoy it when BL dramas get adventurous and try something new from the norm. While HIStory 3: Trapped's execution isn't perfect, I believe it's an optimistic hint of the creative potential in the genre.

#13. Make Our Days Count

HIStory 3: Make Our Days Count follows the stormy relationship of a high school boy and his bully. Although the two characters are first hostile, their relationship improves as they get a better understanding of each other. This BL drama also includes a spicy romance with a significant age gap, as one of the youngsters develops a crush on an older gentleman. Admittedly, HIStory 3: Make Our Days Count has a number of red flags, such as bad writing, unlikable characters, and toxic interpersonal dynamics. Nonetheless, there are some riveting moments in this series, which is capable of eliciting strong emotions with its constant turmoil.

#14. SOTUS

"SOTUS" is a Thai BL drama series that premiered in 2016. It focuses on the dynamics of university life and the hierarchical SOTUS system (Seniority, Order, Tradition, Unity, Spirit) that is common in Thai educational institutions. The story follows Arthit, a severe head hazer, and Kongpob, a daring student, as they face the hardships of the hazing practice. Their hostile relationships gradually turns into a profound bond and, finally, a loving one. The series is lauded for its accurate depiction of collegiate life, outstanding character development, and chemistry between the main actors, Singto and Krist. It expertly blends romance, drama, and social commentary, making it unique in the BL genre. While the hazing issue can be contentious, "SOTUS" tackles it sensitively, eventually emphasizing development, respect, and the power of love and friendship.

These Bad Boy - Good Boy BL shows are well worth watching due to their distinct and intriguing story. Which of these BL dramas are your favorite? Thank you for reading! That's it, and I'll see you on the next one.
