I'm Excited to See 6 New BL Couples!
New BL Series are absolutely interesting due of the fresh and unusual themes they offer, but I'm also enthusiastic about the new BL pairings we'll see in future dramas. In this blog, I will list the new BL couples I am looking forward to seeing in forthcoming dramas airing this year and in 2025. Without further ado, let us dive straight into the blog.
#1. KENG & NAM (KHEMJIRA)
I may have mentioned this on-screen BL pair in several previous posts, but I can't wait to see their chemistry in the series. Just viewing the official pilot, my eyes instantly noted their compatibility, and it felt as if a lot of magic had built between them anytime they were on screen. Both of them are attractive actors, but the tension in the situations was very striking, and it made me understand that this isn't even the actual thing. With an 11-minute duration, the official pilot piqued my interest not only because of its excellent story, but also because of the main characters, who are as significant. I'm just hoping that what I felt for the official pilot will translate to the full series when it premieres, which will most likely be next year. Previously, the pilot teaser was fantastic, but the series was a letdown. Anyway, the production only had their worship ceremony in October, so it may be a bit before it is officially released.
#2. SAINT & POOM (MY SWEETHEART JOM)
We haven't even received an official teaser or pilot, but I'm quite enthusiastic about Saint and Poom's next series. Both actors have previously been on screen with various partners, and this will be the first time we see them as a pair. I've known Saint since his appearance in Love By Chance, which sparked my admiration for him as an actor. He was already doing an excellent job, so it is not surprise that he would become a lot more brilliant actor six years later. Poom, I've only seen him in the series "The Sign," where he had a supporting role, but he was nonetheless recognizable despite his brief appearance in the show. It's curious how the two might seem on a screen as a pair, and I hope it works out well. My Sweetheart Jom is slated to premiere in April 2025, with 12 episodes.
#3. THOMAS & KONG (YOUR SKY)
Thomas and Kong, from Your Sky, are another fascinating on-screen couple that will air later this month. Both actors have excellent looks, and their chemistry is on point in both the official pilot and the trailer. Given Mandee's record for delivering BL dramas on schedule, I expected this BL to premiere in 2025, but we won't have to wait much longer. What drew my eye was their screen compatibility. Based on what I saw in the trailers, both actors appeared to be at ease in their roles, and watching their interactions felt lighthearted. I'm simply hoping that their acting talents will exceed the viewers' expectations so that everything in the series is balanced. Your Sky is set to premiere on November 17 with 12 episodes.
#4. BEN & JAY (CAGED AGAIN)
Just seeing the official pilot and trailer convinced me to add this series to my watchlist for November. Everything about the series was adorable—the story, the penguin, and, of course, the main characters. Just seeing their restricted runtime in the teaser took me off surprise and made me want to start the series immediately. In terms of visuals, both actors are unquestionably excellent. Something about their facial expressions in the trailer felt intriguing, suggesting that there may be a secret twist in their personalities once it airs. When it comes to the main couple's chemistry, the characters made their actions believable, creating the sense that they were interacting naturally. Overall, I'm impressed, but I'm also looking forward to the actual release on November 15. Caged Again will air on WeTV and GaGaOOLala.
#5. TONNAM & TITLE (WISH YOU LUCK)
Since I first saw the official trailer for this series in 2022, I've been intrigued by the story because to its sci-fi setting. Not only that, but the series will include a new on-screen BL couple, which piques my interest in what their dynamics will be and how they will exhibit their chemistry in the middle of global disaster. Unfortunately, the only information we have on this series is that it will premiere sometime in 2025, and we are still unsure if it will materialize or simply disappear without notice. This sci-fi romance series has enormous promise if done well, but it might also disappoint us if it fails to live up to expectations. Anyway, I still have high expectations for this drama, and there is still plenty of time before 2025.
#6. JOSS & FLUKE (MY GOLDEN BLOOD)
I won't stop talking about this new on-screen coupling until GMMTV decides to give the premiere date to us. It's been almost a year since the mock trailer was unveiled, and we still don't know when it will be released internationally. I only hope that the delay just means that the production is considering a variety of aspects in order for the series to be successful. As a new couple, I'm looking forward to seeing their relationship on screen after only seeing a glimpse of it in the mock trailer. Not only that, but it will be one of GMMTV's first vampire series, so I hope the effects are done well enough to capture the viewers' interest. With GMMTV's annual event coming up later this month, we'll see whether there will be any updates on this series.
These new on-screen BL couples are a breath of fresh air, which is a plus when it comes to having various shows. Which new BL pairings do you hope to see in a BL series? Thank you for reading! That's it, and I'll see you on the next one.
