9 Most Anticipated BL Series Arriving This February 2025!

    Before we know it, January has come to a close. With the arrival of February, we can look forward to a fresh lineup of BL shows that will keep us entertained. In this post, I will share a list of the upcoming BL series for February along with what you can anticipate based on their descriptions, as well as highlight some ongoing BL series that you might find interesting. #1. FIGHT FOR LOVE

    It's uncommon for us to have a Vietnamese BL series in our lineup, so it's exciting to see some shows coming out in February that could catch our interest. When I first watched the trailer, the main actors really stood out to me and piqued my curiosity about their story. Since I'm somewhat inexperienced with Vietnamese shows, this will certainly set a benchmark for me to judge as I begin watching this month. From just the trailer, I could already sense the chemistry between the couple, but the actual series will ultimately determine if that's truly the case, as trailers often don't fully capture their performance. Fight For Love centers around two boys, Thang and Binh, who come from completely different backgrounds yet share an unbreakable connection through their passion for music. Thang, who is bold and resolute, pursues Binh, a timid and self-conscious individual struggling with his insecurities. As their story unfolds, they experience personal development, love, and connection, overcoming their disparities to achieve unity with each other. Fight for Love is set to premiere on February 7 on the RL Studio YouTube channel.

#2. GELBOYS

 

    As an original series from iQiYi, it's intriguing to see what they bring to the table, especially since it will be helmed by the renowned "BOSS," the director behind "I Told Sunset About You" and "The Paradise of Thorns." The trailer initially led me to believe this series was just another high school BL drama, but the actual story is much deeper than what was presented in the official preview. This series includes a love quadrangle trope, which I've been eager to see in a BL show, and thankfully, it delivers on that front. The intricate plot centered around their nail designs will transport us to a realm we've yet to discover. GELBOYS follows the journey of high school student FourMod, who is regularly invited by gel nail aficionado Chian to get his nails done in Siam Square. As Chian's flirty demeanor causes FourMod to develop feelings for him, he soon realizes he’s just a fallback when he finds out that Chian is also inviting the popular luk khrueng TikToker Bua. To make Chian envious, FourMod decides to involve his close friend Babin to switch things up. GELBOYS is set to premiere on February 8 on iQiYi.

#3. JACK & JOKER SPECIAL EPISODE

    This Thai BL concluded last November, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive because it's genuinely a remarkable series. With Thailand having officially legalized same-sex marriage, now is the perfect moment to broadcast its special episode featuring their wedding scenes on-screen. However, things won't be straightforward, as our main characters will need to collaborate once more with their group to confront an adversary they have been aware of for some time. Currently, it is unclear if the upcoming special episode will be available internationally or if it will have limited viewing rights solely in Thailand for the time being. The special episode of Jack & Joker is scheduled to premiere on February 22.

#4. HEART STAIN

 

    I'm excited that new Korean BL dramas are finally returning. I actually can't recall the last time we had a Korean BL series, as most recent releases have been from Thailand, Japan, and Taiwan. Currently, there isn’t an official trailer available, but a character introduction teaser has been released since this series is adapted from a manhwa. Heart Stain revolves around U Hyeon, who has a secret crush on his teacher. When his best friend, Do Ha, discovers this, U Hyeon worries about being judged—but instead, Do Ha proposes they fake a relationship until graduation. Hoping to move on from his feelings, U Hyeon agrees, embarking on an unforeseen journey of love and self-discovery. Heart Stain is scheduled to premiere on February 6.

#5. EXCLUSIVE LOVE

 

    There are trailers available for both the main and side couples of the series, but since they lack English subtitles, I can hardly grasp the plot. Regardless, the narrative will focus on a funeral director and a business heir, while the subplot features a wedding planner and a groom. Exclusive Love is set to premiere on February 14 through iQiYi.

#6. THE LAST TIME

 

    The title of this series is certainly appropriate since it has been over a year since we last viewed its official pilot. In fact, I had almost forgotten about this show due to the lack of updates after it was initially supposed to premiere last August, which ultimately did not occur. Months later, I’m truly pleased for those who have been waiting, as it is now set to debut in February. The Last Time centers on Ryu, a writer who succumbs to grief after losing his girlfriend in an accident. Arm, his boss's grandson, assists him in his healing process, and their relationship grows stronger, but Ryu is diagnosed with cancer. They decide to remain together, but a heartbreaking revelation drives them apart. Once Ryu disappears, Arm is left with a mysterious box that contains all the answers. The Last Time is scheduled to premiere on February 14 on WeTV.
