Discover 7 Exciting New BL Series Premiering This April

With the arrival of a new month comes a fresh wave of BL releases ready to captivate us with their unique stories and compelling plots. In this blog, we’ll explore seven upcoming BL series premiering this April and take a closer look at what each one has to offer. Without further ado, let’s dive in.

#01. FEEL WHAT YOU FEEL

Chinese BL series are clearly taking center stage in the industry right now, with a steady stream of new releases capturing fans’ attention. One standout is the upcoming series Feel What You Feel, which is already giving viewers something exciting to anticipate next week. With its fresh faces and the ever-loved university setting, it might just be the kind of April BL release many have been waiting for.
Feel What You Feel tells the story of Ming De University law students Yu Lei and Chen Ke, whose lives become intertwined after an unexpected first encounter. Despite their contrasting personalities—Yu Lei being bold and confident, while Chen Ke is more reserved and distant—Yu Lei finds himself drawn to Chen Ke in ways he never expected. As time passes, their connection quietly deepens into unspoken emotions neither of them is ready to face. It is only during an impromptu football game with the men’s dormitory that their long-suppressed feelings finally begin to surface.
The series is set to premiere on April 2 on Viki, GagaOOLala, and Heavenly.

#02. UNEXPECTEDLY NAUGHTY FUKAMI

A rom-com Japanese BL is exactly the kind of refresh we need right now, and it’s exciting to see it come to life in this series. The trailer already promises a fun and playful vibe, and hopefully, the show delivers that same energy throughout. The chemistry is undeniably there—the tension is tensioning—and it’s something to really look forward to once it begins airing.
Unexpectedly Naughty Fukami centers on Kaji, a top-performing sales ace, who starts to notice a completely different side of his seemingly ordinary coworker, Fukami, during an overnight trip. What begins as a casual arrangement shaped by their shared perspectives on love slowly transforms into something deeper. As they spend more time together, their bond grows into a sincere and unexpected romance.
The series is set to premiere on April 6.

#03. LIFE IN SMOKEY BLUE

We may never get a second season of Old Fashion Cupcake, but fans have something new to look forward to as one of its lead actors returns in an upcoming Japanese BL. This time, the story leans into a more mature tone—offering a grounded portrayal of life while weaving in romance and drama to create something deeply relatable.
Life in Smokey Blue follows Azuma Sakutaro, a 38-year-old unemployed man who, after stepping away from his once-successful career as a pharmaceutical sales representative, finds himself stuck in a cycle of stagnation and isolation while living at his sister’s home. His quiet, uneventful life takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths again with Kuji Shizuka—a former coworker and rival with whom he once shared a brief yet meaningful connection.
As they reunite after eight years, unresolved emotions and lingering memories begin to resurface, setting both of their lives into motion once more and opening the door to change, reflection, and perhaps something more.
Life in Smokey Blue is scheduled to premiere on April 7 on GagaOOLala.

#04. WOOJU BAKERY

First teased back in 2023, this series is now rumored to finally premiere next month, based on recent social media buzz. There have been ongoing discussions surrounding legal issues involving the companies and actors attached to the project, though no official statement has clarified what’s truly happening behind the scenes. Still, if these rumors turn out to be true, fans will undoubtedly celebrate, as this BL has been highly anticipated for quite some time.
Wooju Bakery tells the story of a small-town bakery owner whose long-awaited reopening takes a chaotic turn when a spaceship crash-lands and destroys his shop. Things become even more unusual when he ends up living with an alien in the rebuilt bakery. As their unexpected cohabitation unfolds, other hidden aliens in the city begin to reveal themselves, adding more mystery—and intrigue—to their already unconventional situation.
If confirmed, Wooju Bakery is expected to premiere on April 10 on Wavve.

#05. MAGIC MOVE

The official trailer for this upcoming Thai BL has been out for over a month now, and fans are more than ready for its long-awaited premiere next month. While the storyline may feel somewhat familiar—echoing themes we’ve seen in past BL dramas—it still sparks curiosity. Will it bring something fresh to the table, or will the chemistry between the leads be enough to make it stand out?
Magic Move follows a final-year architecture student who unexpectedly rises to fame as a university fortune teller. In the process, he falsely claims to have a past connection with a wealthy real estate heir—an innocent lie that gradually evolves into something real. As their relationship deepens into genuine romance, complications arise when another young man returns after an unsuccessful pursuit of his dreams in Korea. In a twist of fate, he seeks out his childhood connection—only to discover that it’s the same heir, entangling all three in a complex emotional web.
Magic Move is set to premiere on April 21.

#06. LOVE OF SILOM

I’m really glad we’re finally getting this series next month—it’s easily one of the most exciting BL releases in quite a while. The leads previously starred in My Stand-In, a series that sparked global conversations thanks to their undeniable chemistry and its bold, controversial storyline. Love it or not, that show left a strong impression, and expectations are definitely high for what they’ll bring this time.
Love of Silom follows Krit, a dedicated police officer who keeps his true self hidden after a painful past marked by heartbreak and abandonment. Guarded and emotionally distant, he has long shut himself off from love—until he meets Wayu, a struggling student burdened with family responsibilities while working at a nightclub. Their worlds collide when Krit saves Wayu from a dangerous situation, setting the stage for an unexpected connection.
As their paths continue to intertwine, Krit slowly begins to open up, offering guidance and support to Wayu as he navigates his hardships. In the process, a deeper bond forms between them—one built on understanding, healing, and quiet comfort.
Love of Silom is set to premiere on April 24 on WeTV.

#07. FAKE FACT LIPS

Rounding out our list this April is another Japanese BL adapted from a manga of the same title. The trailer already looks promising, and the leads seem to share a strong and natural chemistry—something that could really elevate the story.
Fake Fact Lips centers on longtime rivals Ryo and Zen, who unexpectedly reunite as coworkers and quickly slip back into their competitive ways—this time, even in matters of the heart. What starts as a playful bet to make the other fall first soon spirals into a chaotic and unpredictable romantic rivalry that neither of them can fully control.
Fake Fact Lips is set to premiere on April 30.
