Six Thai BL Couples Whose Breakups Shattered Hearts πŸ’”

In the Thai BL industry, love stories aren’t always filled with rainbows and butterflies—more often, they unfold through storms, heartbreaks, and painful goodbyes. In this blog, we’ll dive into some of the most emotional and unforgettable on-screen BL couple breakups. Without further ado, let’s begin.

#01. JIMMY & OHM

Honestly, this completely caught me off guard. We didn’t even get the chance to see them fully take on a lead role in Magic Lover, so hearing that Mandeework has already officially ended their pairing feels both shocking and, if I’m being honest, a bit disappointing.
What makes it even harder to accept is that, based on the same announcement, both actors are also being replaced in Magic Lover, which was supposed to be released later this year. It takes away the excitement I had for watching them grow and develop as a main couple on screen.
I still remember when they first appeared last year in The Next Prince as supporting characters—they immediately stood out to me. Their chemistry felt so natural and effortless, like it wasn’t trying too hard, which is something you don’t always see with newer pairings. Because of that, I really believed they had strong potential to last longer in the BL industry, especially since they already had another project lined up together.
That’s why this sudden ending feels even more unexpected. I’m not someone who keeps up with every update about actors outside their shows, so I genuinely didn’t see this coming. Apparently, though, some fans had already been picking up on subtle signs earlier this year that something might be off. Looking back, maybe those hints were leading to this all along.
Still, as someone who was really looking forward to Magic Lover, this is one of those moments where you just have to accept what happened—even if it doesn’t feel right at first.

#02. WINNY & SATANG

I’ve followed this on-screen couple since the very start of their journey in My School President all the way to their final project together, That Summer. Looking back now, it feels surprisingly emotional—you can really see how much they’ve grown, not just as individual actors, but as a pair working side by side.
From the beginning, I already thought they had a certain charm that made them easy to watch. There was something natural about their presence on screen. Still, I’ll admit that at first, their chemistry didn’t completely draw me in the way some other pairings did. It wasn’t instant. But as time went on, something shifted. Their dynamic started to feel more effortless, more genuine, and I found myself slowly becoming more invested in them.
With each project, they seemed more comfortable with each other, more in sync—and that’s when it really clicked for me. Over the past three years, they’ve proven their talent and versatility time and time again. They explored different roles, showed new sides of themselves, and grew in ways that made their partnership even more compelling.
At the same time, I’ve often wondered what the Thai BL industry would look like if it didn’t rely so heavily on fixed pairings. It’s an interesting idea, though I understand that these decisions are often shaped by what works best from a business perspective.
Even so, I’m still genuinely excited to see what’s next for both of them. It might feel a little unfamiliar not seeing them together anymore, but that doesn’t take away from how much I appreciate them as individual actors. If anything, it makes me even more curious to see how they’ll shine on their own—or alongside new partners—in the future.

#03. PING & NUT

One of my personal favorites from last year has to be I’m The Most Beautiful Count. It stood out because it wasn’t your typical BL that centers heavily on romance—instead, it leaned more into comedy and the main character’s personality, which I found really refreshing.
Even though romance wasn’t the main focus, Ping and Nut still had their share of heartfelt moments, and I think those scenes added a nice balance to the overall tone. I know some viewers felt their chemistry was lacking, but honestly, that comes down to personal preference. Not every pairing resonates the same way with everyone, and that’s completely okay.
Before that, we first saw them together in Pit Babe, which really helped boost their popularity and introduced them to a wider audience. That project laid the foundation for them and eventually gave them the opportunity to lead their own series—something I feel they truly earned. Even with mixed opinions about their chemistry, their potential was definitely there.
That’s why it came as a bit of a surprise when, earlier this January, Change Artist officially announced the end of Ping and Nut as a working pair. It wasn’t something a lot of people expected, especially since they were just beginning to establish themselves more firmly.
With that decision, it seems unlikely we’ll be seeing them share the screen again anytime soon, which makes it all a bit bittersweet. Still, I’m genuinely interested to see where their individual careers go from here and what new roles they’ll take on next.

#04. BENZ & GARFIELD

Another on-screen BL pair that has officially gone their separate ways is Benz and Garfield—and honestly, this one stings a little. Many fans first got to know them through Pit Babe, and they later appeared together in This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans, which really helped solidify their presence as a duo.
For me, they were one of those pairings that just worked. Their chemistry felt natural, their interactions were smooth, and nothing ever seemed forced whenever they were on screen together. It was easy to get invested in them because their dynamic came across as genuine and effortless.
That’s why the announcement of their partnership ending hit fans pretty hard. If you take a look at social media, the reactions have been incredibly emotional—with many expressing both sadness and unwavering support for the two actors. A lot of people were actually expecting to see them headline a new BL series this year, especially since they seemed to be gaining momentum as a pairing. It really felt like they were just getting started, which made the news even more sudden for some.
Unfortunately, it seems those expectations won’t be happening anymore—at least not in the way fans had hoped. Still, even if they’re no longer working together as a pair, there’s definitely a lot to look forward to in their individual careers. It’s one of those bittersweet moments where you hold on to what they gave as a duo, while also hoping they both continue to thrive on their own paths.

#05. GREAT & INN

One of my personal favorite pairings from GMMTV has always been Great and Inn. A big part of that comes from how strong their chemistry felt right from the start—it just clicked so naturally. They had this effortless compatibility on screen where nothing felt forced, and their overall dynamic was simply easy and enjoyable to watch. It’s the kind of pairing that draws you in without you even realizing it, which is probably why so many fans, myself included, became so attached to them and their characters.
After their rom-com BL series Wandee Goodday, I really thought we’d be seeing much more from them. That expectation only grew stronger when they were paired again in the historical BL drama Memoir of Rati. For me, that project helped solidify their partnership even further because it showcased a different side of their acting and chemistry. You could tell they were becoming more comfortable with each other, and it made everything feel even more genuine.
That’s why it was especially heartbreaking when GMMTV officially announced in September last year that their pairing had come to an end. As a fan, it’s the kind of news that’s difficult to accept at first—especially when you’ve followed their journey and seen just how much potential they had as a duo.
At the same time, I try to look at the bigger picture. This could also be an opportunity for both of them to grow individually, take on different kinds of roles, and challenge themselves in new ways. And who knows—this new chapter might even lead them to become even stronger and more versatile actors in the future.

#06. MARC & POON

This is probably one of the shortest-lived on-screen BL pairings, lasting only about a year. Before this, Marc already had an established partner, but due to circumstances that led to Pawin being suspended from all projects, GMMTV chose to move forward by pairing Marc with Poon.
At the time, it felt like a fresh start for both of them. Fans were especially curious when they were announced as part of the upcoming BL series A Dog and A Plane, which seemed like a promising opportunity to showcase their potential as a new duo.
However, things took a sudden turn when GMMTV announced in August last year that their pairing had already come to an end. They were also removed from A Dog and A Plane, which made the whole situation feel even more abrupt—especially since they barely had the chance to establish themselves as a pair.
Now, Poon has been paired with Ohm in My Romance Scammer, and the duo has been receiving a lot of positive feedback from fans. It really highlights how quickly things can change in the industry, especially for newly formed pairings trying to find their footing.

The news is definitely heartbreaking. Which on-screen BL couple will you miss the most seeing together in a series? πŸ’”
Thank you so much for reading! That’s all for now—see you in the next one.
